CSN MID-ATLANTIC TO PROVIDE COMPREHENSIVE COVERAGE OF CAPITALS-FLYERS FIRST-ROUND NHL PLAYOFF SERIES

LIVE COVERAGE TO INCLUDE FIRST 5 POTENTIAL GAMES, BEGINNING WITH THURSDAY’S OPENER AT 7 P.M., AND GAME 7, IF NECESSARY

PLAYOFF COVERAGE BEGINS WITH CAPITALS CENTRAL TONIGHT AT 5 P.M. AND 11:30 P.M., CAPITALS PRACTICE LIVE STREAM TUESDAY AT 11 A.M.

BETHESDA, Md. – April 11, 2016 –  CSN Mid-Atlantic will provide comprehensive multiplatform coverage of the Washington Capitals’ 2016 first-round playoff series against the Philadelphia Flyers, highlighted by live coverage of the first five potential games, beginning with Game 1 on Thursday, April 14, at 7 p.m., as well as Game 7, if necessary.

CSN will also present significant news, analysis and opinion covering the Capitals opening-round matchup, including at least 1.5 hours of live gameday coverage on Capitals Pregame Live, Capitals Postgame Live and the new #CapitalsTalk. Extensive daily playoff coverage of the team will also be delivered across CSN’s news, talk and digital media platforms.

A pair of specials will begin CSN’s postseason Capitals coverage tonight and tomorrow. A playoff edition of Capitals Central will be presented live tonight (Monday, April 11) at 5 p.m. On Tuesday, April 12, at 11 a.m., CSNmidatlantic.com will stream live coverage of the Capitals practice. Both programs will encore multiple times.

LIVE GAME COVERAGE
CSN’s live coverage of the series, which will be exclusive throughout the Washington/Baltimore region, will begin with Game 1 on Thursday, April 14, at 7 p.m. at Verizon Center. The network will also televise Game 2 on April 16 at 7 p.m.,  Game 3 on April 18 at 7 p.m. and Game 4 on April 20 at 7 p.m.

If necessary, CSN will also present Game 5 on April 22 and Game 7 on April 27. Television information for Game 6 on April 24 has not been announced. Emmy Award-winning play-by-play announcer Joe Beninati, analyst Craig Laughlin and reporter Al Koken will continue to lead CSN’s live game coverage in the postseason.

PREGAME AND POSTGAME SHOWS
CSN will present live pregame and postgame news, analysis and opinion before and after every playoff contest. Capitals Pregame Live and Capitals Postgame Live will surround all seven potential first-round games for at least a half-hour. The shows will be hosted by Koken or Sebastian Salazar and feature analysis from Alan May and Brent Johnson, both former Capitals. Courtney Laughlin will contribute to the shows as social media correspondent.

#CAPITALSTALK
After making its debut last week, #CapitalsTalk will be presented live following Capitals Postgame Live every gameday for at least a half-hour. The high-energy talk and debate show, which includes viewer contributions via social media, covers the most compelling topics and important issues facing the team that day. Hosted by Salazar, #CapitalsTalk features Tarik El-Bashir, Courtney Laughlin and 106.7 The Fan’s Grant Paulsen.

NEWS AND TALK PROGRAMS
CSN’s daily news program, Geico SportsNet Central, will offer expanded Capitals news, features and interviews throughout the playoffs at 6 p.m., 10:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. (times may vary based on game schedule), led by Jill Sorenson, CSN’s Capitals TV beat reporter. In addition, SportsTalk Live with Brian Mitchell will feature extensive commentary, debate and interviews on weekdays throughout the postseason.

SPECIALS
Capitals Central, CSN’s weekly magazine program, will debut a special playoff edition live tonight (Monday, April 11) at 5 p.m., with encores at 11:30 p.m., and Tuesday, April 12, at 5 p.m. At least 90 minutes of live coverage surrounding the Capitals’ first postseason practice will be streamed live on CSNmidatlantic.com on Tuesday, April 12, beginning at 11 a.m., as part of Capitals Practice Live. A half-hour ‘best-of’ version will air on CSN that night at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. Both shows will feature Salazar, May, Sorenson and Capitals Insider Chuck Gormley. Beninati will also contribute to the practice coverage.

DIGITAL AND SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT
CSN’s digital media properties, highlighted by CSNmidatlantic.com, will continue to feature extensive Capitals coverage throughout the playoffs.
