Louis Oosthuizen speaking with Golf Channel’s Steve Sands following his 4&2 victory over Jordan Spieth
Louis Oosthuizen – “I was definitely by far the underdog. I just wanted to go out and play solid golf. Jordan didn’t play great… He put a lot of pressure on me with the few long putts he made early on. I just tried to give myself as many putts for birdie as I can.”

Jordan Spieth speaking with Sands following his defeat to Oosthuizen
Jordan Spieth – “I had great ball control the last three days. Played very, very solid rounds. And I got to the range this morning and I was hitting some slices with my irons which is bizarre, I never really get that. I tried to fix it on the range, [and] didn’t really know what was up. I’d swing – what felt like normal – and I’d look up and the ball was going way [off]. So I just tried to compensate some on the golf course. Got away with it on the first couple holes and then it got the best of me. I’m not really sure what happened. Really an off day. I’d like my off days to be a little more consistent than they have been of late.”

“I think we did a decent job. It’s frustrating when you’re just so uncomfortable over the ball. And you’re trying to commit to these targets, but you’re also trying to make the same swings that you made and just assume that the range was just something separate. It’s trying to find the balance. Mentally I still felt like we were okay. Just very, very uncomfortable over the golf ball today. To be honest, for the week I was still maybe 10-under in these four rounds even with a very poor day today. So if I look at it that way, we’ve got some momentum this week that we didn’t have before that we can carry through Houston and into the Masters.”

Chris Kirk speaking with Sands following his 2&1 win over Bill Haas
Chris Kirk – “I may be getting a little bit more used to match play. It is definitely different mentally especially. I’ve kind of found that I tend to do best when I just try to ignore what the other guy is doing as much as possible and just stick to my game plan.”

Rory McIlroy speaking with Sands following his 1up victory over Zach Johnson
Rory McIlroy – “He really doesn’t give you anything. We probably didn’t make as many birdies out there as we should have… We both didn’t really have our best stuff, but I definitely produced it when I needed to on the last and [I’m] just lucky to get through to this afternoon.”

Jason Day speaking with Sands following his 3&2 victory over Brandt Snedeker
Jason Day – “Coming off last week’s [victory], I feel like [my game] it’s right up there. If I can keep doing what I’m doing out here and giving myself the chances, I feel like I’ve got a good shot to go all the way through to Sunday.”

Dustin Johnson speaking with Golf Channel’s David Feherty following his 3&2 victory over Patrick Reed
Dustin Johnson – “It was a tough match. It never let up. He never gave me any holes and I didn’t give him any. [Match play] is something we don’t do very often… I enjoy it, it’s a lot of fun. You don’t have to keep score, so if you do hit a bad shot you can just go on to the next hole.”
