Valspar Championship (Final Round)
Sunday, March 13, 2016
Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club (Copperhead Course), Palm Harbor, Fla.

**Charl Schwartzel defeated Bill Haas with a par on the first playoff hole for his second career PGA TOUR victory.**

Charl Schwartzel (7-under, 1st) speaking with Golf Channel on NBC’s Steve Sands following his final round
Schwartzel – “I think everyone’s goal going out was basically just to keep bogeys off the card. You’re just surviving… It was really difficult with the wind gusting.”

On Schwartzel
Gary Koch – “You knew it might be possible [to come from behind] given the conditions if someone could go out and play a really good round of golf. Schwartzel’s [4-under] 67 as we touched on is the best score of anyone who played today. So he certainly earned the right to be where he is right now.”

On Bill Haas (7-under, 2nd)
Koch – “He was telling me earlier in the week that occasionally he watches the reruns of PGA TOUR events and said ‘it never ceases to amaze me how the guys who win golf tournaments don’t hit perfect shots every time. They hit their share of poor shots, and it’s how they handle those poor shots.’ And I would have to say he’s done a very good job of that today. And I think that’s an area of the game if he shores up a little bit, we will see him up on the upper echelon on a more consistent basis.”

Lee McCoy, University of Georgia amateur (4-under, 4th) playing on a sponsor’s exemption in his hometown event speaking with Sands following his round
McCoy – “Surreal to say the least. I’ve always dreamt of just getting a tee time here on Thursday [at this event]. Being in contention on Sunday playing with the No. 1 player in the world was something that never crossed my mind. I really had to pinch myself a few times today… It’s really incredible to see a guy in [Jordan Spieth’s] position have so much class. At the end of the day I’m still just a little college [amateur] scrub just playing out here with these guys trying to fit in. But he had nothing but great things to say and treated me like I belonged out here and it was pretty cool.”

On McCoy
Peter Jacobsen – “He’s been fearless on the greens. What a performance this week.”

Koch – “I think he’s had the speed of the greens figured out probably better than anybody. But of course he’s not used to putting on 12 or 13 stimp greens like the rest of these PGA TOUR players.”

On Ryan Moore’s (5-under, 3rd) inability to make any putts of significance in his final round
Koch – “He is going to rue the opportunities he’s missed today. It’s got to be getting frustrating for him, as well as he has struck the ball, as many opportunities as he had had yesterday and today.”

On Graham DeLaet’s (3-under, T-5th) struggles with the putter
David Feherty – “He’s hit a number of quality shots today, but just has no value out of this round because of the putter. But he’s close, it really won’t take much more for him to get over the hump I believe.”

On Jordan Spieth (Even, T-18th)
Koch – “What we’ve seen out of Jordan this week is that his misses have been worse than what we’ve seen in other weeks. He’s put himself in positions where he just couldn’t play, when he’s usually so good at not making big mistakes.”
