NBC SPORTS GROUP PRESENTS MORE THAN 35 HOURS OF OLYMPIC WINTER SPORTS COVERAGE THIS WEEKEND

Curling Night In America Doubleheader Friday at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN; Curling Night Marathon Begins Sunday at 4 p.m. ET

Universal HD and NBC Sports Live Extra Present IBSF World Cup Bobsled and Skeleton Coverage from St. Moritz

STAMFORD, Conn. – Feb. 4, 2016 – NBCSN, Universal HD, and NBC Sports Live Extra will present more than 35 hours of Olympic winter sports coverage this weekend spanning alpine skiing, curling, bobsled and skeleton, cross-country, ski jumping and Nordic combined. U.S. Olympic skier Travis Ganong headlines NBCSN’s FIS World Cup alpine skiing coverage beginning Saturday at 12 a.m. ET from Jeongseon, South Korea, which will host alpine skiing events at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang.

NBCSN presents a Curling Night In America doubleheader on Friday night beginning at 8 p.m. ET, as well as a Curling Night marathon this Sunday, beginning at 4 p.m. ET. In addition, Universal HD and NBC Sports Live Extra will combine to present IBSF bobsled and skeleton coverage from St. Moritz, Switzerland, beginning tomorrow morning at 5 a.m. ET. Live Extra will stream also stream FIS World Cup cross-country, ski jumping and Nordic combined events from Oslo, Norway.

NBC Sports Live Extra – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, tablets and connected TVs – will stream all of this weekend’s Olympic winter sports coverage.

 
FIS WORLD CUP ALPINE SKIING – COVERAGE ON NBCSN BEGINS SATURDAY AT 12 A.M. ET/FRIDAY AT 9 P.M. PT

NBC Sports Group’s men’s FIS World Cup skiing coverage on NBCSN showcases the first event at Jeongseon, South Korea, which will host alpine events for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang. Ganong, Steven Nyman and Andrew Weibrecht headline a group of U.S. Olympians expected to compete this weekend. Austrian Marcel Hirscher continues to lead the overall FIS World Cup standings (969 points) ahead of Norway’s Aksel Lund Svindal (919).

In addition, Universal HD and NBC Sports Live Extra will provide coverage of this weekend’s FIS World Cup women’s event from Garmisch, Germany. U.S. Olympian Lindsey Vonn is scheduled to compete this weekend, and is currently 11 wins away from reaching the all-time mark of 86 World Cup wins held by Sweden’s Ingemar Stenmark. Live coverage of the downhill on Saturday and Sunday will stream live at 4:45 a.m. ET on Live Extra, and will air at 2:30 p.m. ET on Universal HD.

Steve Schlanger will handle the play-by-play of this weekend’s men’s alpine skiing action alongside analyst Mike Day.

 
CURLING NIGHT IN AMERICA – TOMORROW AT 10 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

NBCSN continues its Curling Night In America series with a doubleheader tomorrow night, beginning at 8 p.m. ET, as Jon Shuster and the Americans battle against Team Scotland on the men’s side. Coverage continues at 10 p.m. ET with the new mixed doubles format, as Team USA faces Team China. NBCSN will also air a marathon of encore Curling Night presentations this Sunday, beginning at 4 p.m. ET.

Last week on Curling Night, Team USA earned an 8-7 victory in overtime on the women’s side against Team China, as Jamie Sinclair clinched the win for the Americans with a near-perfect draw to the button to close out the match.

Jason Knapp (play-by-play) and 2006 Olympic bronze medalist and eight-time U.S. national champion Pete Fenson (analyst) will provide commentary, while Tanith White (reporter) offers reports from Curl Mesabi in Eveleth, Minn.

 
UNIVERSAL HD AND NBC SPORTS LIVE EXTRA PRESENT IBSF BOBSLED AND SKELETON COVERAGE FROM ST. MORITZ

Coverage of this weekend’s IBSF World Cup bobsled and skeleton action begins with live men’s skeleton coverage on Live Extra at 5 a.m. ET and women’s skeleton at 8:30 a.m. ET both tomorrow and Saturday mornings. Universal HD will air same-day delay coverage each day, beginning at 4 p.m. ET.
