BODE MILLER JOINS NBC SPORTS GROUP’S SKIING COVERAGE AT AUDI BIRDS OF PREY THIS WEEKEND ON NBC AND NBCSN

Most Decorated U.S. Olympic Skier in History Joins NBC Sports as Analyst in Beaver Creek, Colo.

NBC Sports Live Extra and Universal HD Present FIS Women’s World Cup Skiing Coverage from Lake Louise This Weekend

STAMFORD, Conn. – Dec. 2, 2015 – Bode Miller, the most decorated U.S. Olympic skier in history, makes his debut as an analyst this weekend during NBC Sports’ coverage of the Audi Birds of Prey event in Beaver Creek, Colo., beginning Friday, Dec. 4 at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

NBC Sports Group will present more than 30 hours of men’s and women’s FIS World Cup skiing coverage this weekend, including women’s alpine skiing from Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada. Two-time Olympic gold medalist Ted Ligety, U.S. Olympians Travis Ganong and Steven Nyman, Olympic downhill champion Lindsey Vonn and Olympic slalom champion Mikaela Shiffrin are all expected to compete at this weekend’s events at Beaver Creek and Lake Louise.

Lead play-by-play commentator Dan Hicks will call the Audi Birds of Prey from Beaver Creek, alongside Bode Miller and former World Cup downhillers Steve Porino and Todd Brooker. NBC Sports’ coverage begins Friday, Dec. 4, at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN with live coverage of the downhill, followed by NBCSN’s coverage of the super-G on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 1 p.m. ET. NBC will air live coverage of the giant slalom Sunday, Dec. 6, at 5 p.m. ET.

Miller on this weekend’s event: “The Colorado snow is what makes this event so unique. The dry, compact snow is much friendlier than other courses, and everybody feels good skiing on it. It’s technical with big jumps. The combination makes it one of the season’s top five stops.”

Miller on what type of skier the course favors: “It favors well-rounded skiers. Usually the winners here have won at other places. You need to be technical, and the snow conditions mean the course favors gliders. If this was an icy course, it would be one of the most difficult in the world.”

Live Extra’s coverage of the women’s event at Lake Louise begins Friday at 1:30 p.m. ET with the downhill, continues Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET, and concludes on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET with the super-G. Universal HD will air same-day delayed coverage of all three events each day at 8:30 p.m. ET.

In addition, NBC Sports Live Extra will provide streaming FIS World Cup cross-country, Nordic combined and ski jumping coverage from Lillehammer, as well as men’s and women’s bobsled action from Winterberg, Germany.
