Avondale, Ariz – Nov. 14, 2015 – NBC presented a sunshine-filled afternoon of NASCAR XFINITY Series racing from Phoenix International Raceway. NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Kyle Busch dominated the race leading 190 of the 200 laps, winning the checkered flag. With only one race remaining, XFINITY points leader Chris Buescher finished 13th and saw his lead dwindle to only 18 points ahead of Chase Elliott.
Saturday afternoon’s coverage from “Zoomtown, USA,” began with Countdown to Green hosted by Krista Voda, Kyle Petty and Dale Jarrett. Reporter Parker Kligerman contributed to pre-race coverage. Announcer Rick Allen called the action alongside Steve Letarte and Jeff Burton. Marty Snider, Mike Massaro, Kelli Stavast and Dave Burns reported from pit road.

The following are highlights from this afternoon’s XFINITY pre-race and race coverage on NBCSN.
Voda on young XFINITY drivers: “The youth movement is on. The top three in points are all 23-years-old or less. One of them will be the 2015 XFINITY Series Champion.”
Regan Smith to Burns on potential being picked up by RPM: “We will see how things happen. It is obviously getting close to crunch time.”
XFINITY points leader Chris Buescher to Kligerman: “I would be lying if I said there wasn’t any (pressure). There is always at this stage in the game.”
Petty on young XFINITY drivers: “The passion that they all have is the same. I don’t care how you got here. I don’t care what door opened for you, or what door closed. These guys are the future stars that we are going to see in the Cup series over the next few years.”
Jarrett’s advice for upcoming drivers: “You want to know how you get to a good ride or make your way here. Give it everything that you got every time you climb behind the wheel of a car. You never know who is watching.”
Petty on Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski running in the XFINITY race: “I think it depends on the driver. When I look at these two drivers, the less they race, they appear to not be as good. And I don’t mean that in a bad way. What I mean is they get in the rhythm of running a lot of races…They would rather be in a race car than sitting on their bus on their butt watching us on TV.”
Letarte on the challenge for XFINITY drivers: “The biggest struggle for the XFINITY drivers chasing points are Cup regulars. Kyle Busch set a track record pace and is sitting on the pole here today, he has to be a favorite. If the other three contenders want to try and push Chris Buescher for this Championship they have to find a way to outrun those Cup regulars.”
Burton on other drivers optimizing Buescher’s slow race: “Someone needs to make Chris Buescher pay for not running as well. One of these guys needs to step up and find a way to get a top two, top three finish. This is the day.”
