NBC Sports Live Extra to Provide Streaming Coverage

STAMFORD, Conn. – Oct. 22, 2015 – NBC Sports begins its coverage of Rugby World Cup 2015 this Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC, when South Africa faces defending champion New Zealand in the semifinals at historic Twickenham Stadium in England.

The winner of Saturday’s semifinal match between South Africa and New Zealand will advance to the Rugby World Cup 2015 final and face the winner of the Argentina-Australia semifinal match. NBC will present live coverage of the Rugby World Cup 2015 Final next Saturday, Oct. 31 at noon ET. Universal Sports Network will air live coverage of the Argentina-Australia semifinal match Sunday at 11:30 a.m. ET, as well as the bronze final on Friday, Oct. 30 at 3:30 p.m. ET.

NBC Sports Live Extra – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs – will stream Rugby World Cup 2015 coverage airing on NBC. UniversalSports.com will stream all Universal Sports coverage.

Veteran announcer Bill Seward will serve as the play-by-play commentator for Rugby World Cup 2015 coverage on NBC and Universal Sports Network. He will be joined in the booth by former USA Sevens captain and USA Rugby World Cup participant Brian Hightower.

New Zealand advanced to Saturday’s semifinal with a perfect 4-0-0 mark in pool play, followed by a 62-13 victory over France in the quarterfinals. South Africa advanced out of Pool B with a 3-0-1 record, and defeated Wales by a score of 23-19 in the quarterfinals last weekend.

New Zealand has won the Rugby World Cup twice since its inception in 1987, including the most recent Rugby World Cup in 2011 which took place in New Zealand. South Africa is also a two-time winner of the event (1995 and 2007).
