NBC Sports Group Presents Comprehensive Coverage of Formula One Russian Grand Prix this Sunday at 6:30 a.m. ET on NBCSN
STAMFORD, Conn. – Oct. 7, 2015 – NBC Sports presents a full weekend of racing with over 20 hours of coverage from Charlotte Motor Speedway. The Bank of America 500 Sprint Cup race airs Saturday at 7 p.m. ET on NBC. The pivotal Sprint Cup race is the first race in the Round of 12. With four drivers eliminated last week, the remaining 12 will battle it out to advance to the next round of the NASCAR Playoffs. XFINITY Series Racing from Charlotte Presented by AutoZone runs Friday at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN. With only five XFINITY races remaining, Charlotte is an important track for drivers to gain points and boost their Championship standings.
NBC SPORTS’ PRE-RACE COVERAGE FEATURES A RIDE ALONG WITH THREE NASCAR LEGENDS, A PERFORMANCE BY HUNTER HAYS AND A THRILLING AERIAL ACT
Analysts Dale Jarrett and Bobby Labonte join Jeff Burton during his NBC Sports’ Toyota Camry On Track Car tour of the track. Each gets behind the wheel for a simultaneous ride around “The Beast of the Southeast.” Having all visited victory lane at the superspeedway, each reveals what it takes to master the mile-and-a-half track.
NBCSN’s pre-race coverage includes a performance by multi-talented singer, songwriter and instrumentalist Hunter Hayes, as he gets speedway guests in the mood for green flag Sprint Cup racing. Erendira Wallenda, wife of daredevil Nik Wallenda, takes center stage above Charlotte Motor Speedway’s nearly 2,000 acres. Coming from eight generations of acrobats, Erendira showcases her skills performing an acrobatic routine while hanging from a helicopter.
NBC SPORTS PRESENTS ROUND OF 12 SPRINT CUP PLAYOFF RACING FROM CHARLOTTE MOTOR SPEEDWAY
NBC Sports’ Sprint Cup coverage from “The Tar Heel State” begins Thursday with the first practice at 1:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN followed by qualifying at 7p.m. ET. Friday’s coverage from Charlotte Motor Speedway begins in the afternoon with Sprint Cup Series second practice at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN and the final Sprint Cup practice at 6:30 p.m. ET.
Pre-race Playoff coverage begins Saturday at 5 p.m. ET on NBCSN with NASCAR America Saturday presented by DraftKings followed by Countdown to Green Served by Sonic pre-race show at 6 p.m. ET. The green flag falls on the first Round of 12 race at 7 p.m. ET on NBC. Coverage from the “The Beast of the Southeast” wraps up with the Post Race Show at 11 p.m. ET on NBCSN followed by NASCAR Victory Lap at 11:30 p.m. ET.
Rick Allen calls this weekend’s action from the superspeedway alongside Daytona 500-winning crew chief Steve Letarte and 21-time Sprint Cup winner Jeff Burton.
