“TOGETHER WE MAKE FOOTBALL” FEATURES NEW ORLEANS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PLAYER CLIFF CHATTMAN TOMORROW MORNING ON TODAY

New Orleans Saints Host Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football

STAMFORD, Conn. – October 1, 2015 – Tomorrow’s “Together We Make Football” segment on TODAY highlights New Orleans native and high school football player Cliff Chattman.

When Katrina struck in 2005, Cliff Chattman was only 8 years old. Determined to wait out the storm, the Chattman family stayed put in their home, which flooded with water and trapped the family on the second floor when the storm hit. The family eventually managed to get to a nearby bridge, where they were some of the last people to be rescued by the National Guard.

Despite the obstacles his family faced, Cliff never gave up his dream of playing football. His family returned home to New Orleans after spending a year in Houston. He’s now a senior defensive back on his high school football team and has garnered interest from college recruiters. Cliff recently committed to play close to home, at LSU.

Sunday Night Football, television’s No. 1 primetime show, continues this Sunday, Sept. 27, the first-place Dallas Cowboys (2-1) face off against the New Orleans Saints (0-3) at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Sunday at 8:30 p.m. ET. Coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET with Football Night in America, the most-watched studio show in sports.
ABOUT “TOGETHER WE MAKE FOOTBALL”

The National Football League and NBC present weekly segments on TODAY for “Together We Make Football,” an invitation to anyone inspired by the game of football – whether as a player at any level, coach or a fan – to share their story for a chance to win a trip to Super Bowl 50.

The campaign will unfold weekly throughout the NFL season with segments airing every Friday on TODAY.

Fans can visit TODAY.COM/TWMF now and share a video or photo, with a description detailing how football inspires them. Stories submitted through Monday, November 2, will be entered into the contest that will produce a winner of a trip to Super Bowl 50 in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Following the deadline for submissions, a joint NFL and NBC panel will select five finalists whose stories will be turned into short features by NFL Films. The features will be unveiled weekly on TODAY beginning Friday, December 4 and the winning story will be announced live on TODAY on January 8, 2016.

This is the latest iteration of the “Together We Make Football” campaign that launched in 2013. Over the past two years, thousands of fans shared their stories of what football means to them. A select few had their stories told on TODAY and some even won trips to Super Bowl.

Stories that air on TODAY also will be posted on NFL.com/videos/twmf throughout the season.
