STAMFORD, Conn. – September 22, 2015 – Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on NBC blow-by-blow announcer Marv Albert, analysts “Sugar” Ray Leonard and BJ Flores, and PBC on NBC coordinating producer David Gibson will participate in a conference call today, Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 3 p.m. ET/Noon PT.

Albert, Leonard, Flores and Gibson will preview this Saturday’s PBC on NBC broadcast live in primetime at 8:30 p.m. ET, highlighted by heavyweight champion Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder (34-0, 33 KOs) making his second title defense, facing France’s Johann “Reptile” Duhaupas (32-2, 20 KOs).

Dial 785-830-7989 to Participate; Conference ID 786266.

Saturday’s broadcast from Birmingham, Ala. will be the first heavyweight title bout in primetime on NBC since May 20, 1985, when another undefeated American heavyweight world champion, Larry Holmes defended his title against Carl Williams in Reno, Nevada. Albert, who will handle blow-by-blow on Saturday, called the fight.

That telecast was previewed in the Los Angeles Times by Larry Stewart as follows:

“NBC is treating Monday night’s fight between Larry Holmes and Carl (The Truth) Williams in Reno as a major event. The network is bringing in its top production people to work the fight, and tons of equipment. Executive producer Mike Weisman will be on hand to oversee the production. Dick Enberg will be the telecast host, with Marv Albert and Ferdie Pacheco calling the action. NBC will superimpose a clock in the lower right corner of the screen that will go from zero to 3 minutes instead of starting at 3 minutes and counting down. Fight coverage will begin at 6 p.m. Monday, with Marvis Frazier facing James (Quick) Tillis in a scheduled 10-round preliminary.”

Coverage of Premier Boxing Champions will continue Saturday at 11 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
