CSN MID-ATLANTIC, CAPITALS ANNOUNCE 74-GAME REGIONAL TV SCHEDULE

 LIVE COVERAGE TO INCLUDE 3 PRESEASON AND 71 REGULAR-SEASON GAMES; 11 CONTESTS TO BE PRESENTED NATIONALLY ON NBC, NBCSN

CAPITALS PREGAME LIVE AND CAPITALS POSTGAME LIVE TO PROVIDE GAMEDAY NEWS, ANALYSIS AND COMMENTARY

Bethesda, Md. (Sept. 16, 2015) – CSN Mid-Atlantic and the Washington Capitals have announced the team’s 74-game regional television schedule for the 2015-16 NHL season, which will be surrounded by comprehensive pregame and postgame shows and extensive multiplatform news coverage.

CSN’s schedule includes 71 regular-season games and three preseason contests. As previously announced, NBCSN and NBC will combine to present exclusive national coverage of 11 Capitals games this season, making the team’s entire 82-game regular-season schedule available throughout the region via the NBC Sports Group.

CSN’s live coverage of the 2015-16 Capitals will begin with the preseason opener against Carolina on Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. and will include the team’s last two exhibition games, against Boston on Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. and against the N. Y. Islanders on Oct. 4 at 5 p.m. CSN’s regular-season schedule will start with the Capitals’ opener Oct. 10 against New Jersey (7 p.m.)

CSN’s live coverage will be led by nine-time Emmy Award-winning play-by-play announcer Joe Beninati, game analyst Craig Laughlin and reporter Al Koken, who are entering their 19th consecutive season together. Analyst Alan May will again contribute regularly to game coverage, as will Capitals TV beat reporter Jill Sorenson and Capitals Insider Chuck Gormley.

Capitals Pregame Live and Capitals Postgame Live will return this season to provide comprehensive gameday news, analysis and interviews. May will again serve as lead analyst for the half-hour shows, with Koken and Sebastian Salazar alternating as hosts. Former Capitals goaltender Brent Johnson will also provide analysis surrounding select games.

CSN’s daily news program, Geico SportsNet Central, will offer expanded Capitals news, features and interviews throughout the season at 10:30 p.m. and 12 a.m. In addition, SportsTalk Live with Brian Mitchell, which airs weekdays at 10 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., will feature Capitals commentary, debate and interviews.
