The Evian Championship, Final Round
Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015
Evian Resort Golf Club
Evian-les-Bains, France

On Lydia Ko, 2015 Evian Championship winner at -16 (8-under par 63 on Sunday) and becoming the youngest major champion in LPGA history at 18 years, 4 months and 20 days
Terry Gannon – “Birdie-birdie finish. Three of the last four holes. A 63 in a major championship. That is a statement.”
Judy Rankin – “She is going to prove to be one of the most gifted players that has ever played the game. If she plays long enough, she is going to have a record in this modern age that is going to be something to be admired.”
Rankin – “It is so nice you when you are going to win, to be able to enjoy that win with the last few shots you play.”
Gannon – “18 years old. To do what she’s already done and to do what she’s doing. Pretty remarkable.”
Rankin – “She plays the game in her own little bubble, but having said that, she also is aware of everything around her. But she has that wonderful ability not to let it change how she does anything.”
Gannon – “At the age of 18, this was her last chance to do it and she has done it her way: slowly, methodically and with a lot of birdies.”
Rankin – “Bogey-free and birdie-heavy.”
Rankin – “She’s 18-years old when she’s away from the golf course, but when she’s on the golf course, she’s an old hat.”
Rankin – “She is a very good player that is now just brimming with confidence.”

2015 Evian Championship winner Lydia Ko speaking with Golf Channel’s Tom Abbott following her victory
Lydia Ko – “It is pretty amazing. I didn’t know how this day would end up, and I just tried to focus on my game. Today was an awesome day. It has been such an unbelievable experience, and everybody won’t ask me anymore when I will win my first major because it’s done.”

On winning her first major championship
Ko – “The first time I think is definitely one of the most memorable, and it is so hard to get to that first, so it’s been so amazing that I’m lost for words.”

On Sunday’s final-round 63 and where it ranks in her career
Ko – “I just played pretty consistent. I turned in 3-under, made a good putt on 10 and made two good birdies in a row and I think that is where I started to get into a good rhythm.”
Ko – “The best round ever. To finish with two birdies and to finish on the 72nd hole with a birdie, it doesn’t happen often. So, it is definitely one of the top rounds in my whole entire life and I’m sure it will be for my career.”

On Lexi Thompson, runner-up at 10-under par for the championship
Richard Kaufman – “The adrenaline that was kicking in, in the heat of the battle of the major championship, disappeared fast for Lexi Thompson.”
Rankin – “She would have had to have been lights out all the way around the course to beat Lydia’s 63. A lot of good golf from Lexi this week.”
Jerry Foltz – “She got a little chuckle from the crowd. Right before she putted on 18 she handed her putter to Lydia and said, ‘Hit this one for me.’”

On Morgan Pressel, T11 at 4-under par (4-over par 75 on Sunday)
Sandy Mackenzie – “It has been a very disappointing day for Morgan, with the way she has been playing lately. Really nothing has gone right for her today.”
Rankin – “She has one of the best records ever in the Solheim Cup matches. She is considered one of the great match players. I still know the game is in great shape and she will be some kind of factor next week.”
