CSN NAMES ROB CARLIN CO-HOST OF SPORTSTALK LIVE WITH BRIAN MITCHELL

VETERAN ANCHOR AND REPORTER TO JOIN REDSKINS LEGEND ON WEEKNIGHT TALK SHOW BEGINNING SEPT. 8

CURRENT HOST CHICK HERNANDEZ TO RETURN TO FULL-TIME REDSKINS COVERAGE

Bethesda, Md. (Sept. 2, 2015) – CSN Mid-Atlantic has announced that Rob Carlin will co-host SportsTalk Live with Brian Mitchell, the weeknight talk and debate show that airs live at 10 p.m., beginning Sept. 8. Current host Chick Hernandez will return to covering the Washington Redskins full time.

Carlin will join Mitchell, who has appeared on the show since it launched as SportsTalk Live in January 2012, to provide commentary, analysis and lively debate covering the most important and compelling topics of the day. Carlin will bring more than 13 years of experience covering Washington, D.C., and Baltimore-area sports to the conversation.

“Rob has acquired a lot of knowledge, and a very interesting perspective, from covering every team in this region for more than a dozen years,” said CSN Mid-Atlantic President Rebecca Schulte. “His enthusiasm and rapport with Brian will result in a very entertaining, high-energy show. The transition also allows Chick to return to a role for which he has tremendous passion and experience – covering the Redskins – while also giving him more flexibility to contribute to other platforms.”

Since joining CSN in October 2011, Carlin has been an anchor and reporter for Geico SportsNet Central and hosted home game editions of Capitals Pregame Live and Capitals Postgame Live. Last season, he also served as TV beat reporter for the Redskins, providing daily news coverage and contributing to gameday shows Redskins Kickoff, Redskins Postgame Live and #RedskinsTalk. He has also hosted The Baseball Show for three years.

Prior to joining CSN, Carlin covered the region as a sports anchor and reporter with Baltimore’s WMAR-TV (ABC) for more than three years and WMDT-TV (ABC) in Salisbury, Md., for four years. The University of Maryland graduate also served for two years as a sports producer for Baltimore’s WBFF-TV (FOX), and spent time as a radio host on Baltimore’s 1300 AM and 105.7 the Fan. His 20-year television career also includes stints in New York and Birmingham, Ala.

Hernandez will cover the Redskins daily for CSN’s news and entertainment programs, a role he held for two seasons prior to joining SportsTalk Live with Brian Mitchell in September 2014. CSN’s longest-serving anchor and reporter, he will continue to host Redskins Kickoff and Redskins Postgame Live on gamedays. Hernandez will also contribute to Geico SportsNet Central as an anchor and cover other sporting events and teams throughout the region.
