Yahoo Sports – NBC Sports Network Ranked No. 2 Among All Sports Digital Sites in July

NASCAR and Tour de France live content contributed to the Yahoo Sports – NBC Sports Network ranking No. 2 among all sports digital sites in July, with 52.8 million uniques, according to multiplatform data released by comScore.

NBC Sports Group’s digital properties delivered 29.1 million uniques, up 8% versus the prior year. In addition, GolfChannel.com delivered 2.9 million uniques in July, up 53% versus the prior year, and Rotoworld.com delivered 2.1 million uniques, up 12%.

NBC Sports Live Extra Up in Live Minutes and Unique Users for Premier League Action

Through the first two weeks of the 2015-16 Premier League season, NBC Sports Live Extra delivered 30.5 million live minutes and 392,000 uniques, up 35% and 14%, respectively, versus the same period last year. In addition, Sunday’s match between reigning Premier League champions Chelsea and last season’s runners up Manchester City ranks as NBC Sports Live Extra’s most-streamed Premier League match ever with 96,000 unique users.

More Than 110,000 Nine-Hole Rounds Booked on GolfNow in July

As part of its “Go Play” initiatives that promote alternatives to playing the traditional 18-hole round of golf, GolfNow, the leading tee-time reservation and golf course technology platform, reported that golfers in July booked more than 110,000 nine-hole rounds of golf through its platforms. This represents a 66% increase versus the prior year and demonstrates a growing consumer acceptance of such alternatives, as well as Golf Channel’s continued commitment to help grow the game.

CSNPhilly.com Delivers Record Numbers in July

CSNPhilly.com, the online home of Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia, had a record month in July with nearly 7 million unique visitors, 9.5 million visits and 15 million page views.  In addition, earlier this month CSNPhilly.com’s “The700Level Show” was nominated for a Mid-Atlantic Emmy for Sports – Interview/Discussion program.  This is the first time a Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia digital property has been nominated.  The Emmy Award winners will be announced in September.

Digital Magazine Golf Channel Academy Launched This Week

Golf Channel Academy magazine, golf’s only digital magazine dedicated to instruction, launched this week, providing expertise from the industry’s best teachers who have brought their teaching academies and facilities under the Golf Channel Academy instructional brand. Initially, the digital magazine will be published monthly and will be available with a free-trial subscription by signing up at GolfChannelAcademy.com. The premiere issue launched with a cover story by Golf Channel Academy lead coach Mitchell Spearman, who appeared yesterday on Golf Channel’s “Morning Drive.” Also included in the premiere issue is a frame-by-frame swing analysis of 2015 Masters and U.S. Open champion Jordan Spieth, and now the No. 1 player in the world, by GCA lead coach Jeff Ritter, including a bonus video tip on Spieth’s “signature power move.”

CSN Mid-Atlantic Launches new CSNmidatlantic.com and CSN Mid-Atlantic Mobile App

As previously announced, CSN Mid-Atlantic yesterday launched CSNmidatlantic.com and the CSN Mid-Atlantic application for iOS and Android devices. The new platforms integrate and expand the extensive regional sports content previously available across its market-focused websites, CSNwashington.com and CSNbaltimore.com, and their mobile apps.

The new website and mobile app present the entire portfolio of written, video and interactive digital content produced daily by CSN Mid-Atlantic’s writers, reporters and insiders. The new platforms are highlighted by exclusive coverage of the region’s professional teams and top college programs, including the Washington Redskins, Baltimore Ravens, Washington Capitals, Washington Wizards, D.C. United, Washington Nationals, Baltimore Orioles and Maryland Terrapins.

Now replaced by CSNmidatlantic.com, CSNwashington.com and CSNbaltimore.com – launched in 2009 and 2010, respectively – established CSN as the region’s leading source for multiplatform sports coverage. Bolstered by increased content, technical advancement and the acquisition of top talent, the network’s websites have earned continuous growth since inception. During the first half of this year, they earned double-digit gains in unique visitors (12%), visits (27%) and page views (26%) versus the same period in 2014, which was a record-setting year in all categories.
