ORLANDO, Fla. (Aug. 4, 2015) – Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler headline an elite field that includes 48 of the top-50 players in the Official World Golf Ranking teeing it up at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. The Barracuda Championship will air in primetime on Golf Channel, with PGA TOUR rookie Ollie Schniederjans and major champions headlining the field in Reno. Fred Couples will defend his 2014 title at the Shaw Charity Classic in Canada, and Miguel Angel Jimenez and Colin Montgomerie also are in the field.

Scoring format: This week will be the fourth time that the tournament will be contested as a modified stableford. Players will receive eight points for an albatross, five for an eagle, two for a birdie, zero for a par, -1 points for a bogey and -3 points for a double bogey or worse.

PGA Championship spot up for grabs: While the winner will not receive an invitation to the 2016 Masters, he will receive an exemption into next week’s PGA Championship at Whistling Straits if not previously eligible.

Ogilvy defends: Geoff Ogilvy won by five points over Justin Hicks in the modified stableford format for his eighth PGA TOUR victory.

Headlining the field: Ollie Schniederjans, Retief Goosen, Jonas Blixt, John Huh, Ryo Ishikawa, Patrick Rodgers, Geoff Ogilvy, John Daly, Steve Wheatcroft, Billy Hurley and David Duval.
