ORLANDO, Fla. (June 24, 2015) – The PGA TOUR shifts to the Northeast for the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Conn., with Bubba Watson, Patrick Reed and Sergio Garcia headlining the field. Golf Channel’s evening news program, Golf Central, will air on-site from TPC River Highlands throughout the week with Kelly Tilghman hosting, Brandel Chamblee and Mark Rolfing serving as analysts and Angela Hamann reporting. The European Tour is in Germany for the BMW International Open with Martin Kaymer teeing it up in his home country, and Henrik Stenson also in the field. Stacy Lewis will defend her title at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship, with eight of the top-10 players in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings in the field. And on Sunday, the PGA Professional National Championship gets underway from Philadelphia Cricket Club, as the 312-person field will be competing for 20 available spots in the 2015 PGA Championship in August.

Tournament format: 312 PGA of America professionals will compete for 20 available spots in the field at the upcoming PGA Championship at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin. The field will play one round at each course over the first two days before a 36-hole cut is made with the low 90 players and ties. A second cut after 54 holes will include the low 70 players and ties. The final two rounds will be held on the Wissahickon Course, which will host the Constellation SENIOR PLAYERS Championship in 2016.

Block defends: Michael Block defeated Jamie Broce with a birdie on the second playoff hole.
