STAMFORD, Conn. – June 17, 2015 – NBC Sports Group continues its comprehensive coverage of the 2015 Formula One season with a live presentation of the Austrian Grand Prix this Sunday at 7:30 a.m. ET on NBCSN.

In addition to this week’s F1 Austrian Grand Prix, NBC Sports Group’s motorsports action includes Red Bull Global RallyCross coverage from Daytona International Speedway on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on NBC, and a presentation of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour’s Mr. Rooter 125 on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

NBC Sports Live Extra – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, and tablets – will provide comprehensive streaming coverage of this week’s Formula One and Red Bull Global RallyCross presentations.
FORMULA ONE AUSTRIAN GRAND PRIX – SUNDAY AT 7:30 A.M. ET ON NBCSN

NBC Sports Group’s Formula One coverage continues this weekend with the Austrian Grand Prix on Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m. ET on NBCSN, the eighth race of the 2015 campaign. Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) bounced back from a disappointing third-place finish in Monaco with a victory at the Canadian Grand Prix on June 7, his fourth win of the season.

Hamilton (151 points) now leads teammate Nico Rosberg (134 points) by 17 points in the driver standings, followed by Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel (108 points) and Kimi Raikkonen (72 points). Last year, Rosberg outdueled Hamilton at the Red Bull Ring in the first installation of the Austrian Grand Prix since the 2003 season.

Coverage begins Friday morning at 4 a.m. ET with exclusive coverage of Practice 1 on NBC Sports Live Extra, followed by live Practice 2 coverage at 8 a.m. ET on NBCSN. NBCSN will provide live coverage of qualifying on Saturday morning at 8 a.m. ET, prior to race coverage on Sunday at 7:30 a.m. ET, and F1 Extra, NBCSN’s pre- and post-race show at 10 a.m. ET.

Lead F1 announcer Leigh Diffey will call this weekend’s action, and will be joined by veteran analyst and former racecar driver David Hobbs, and analyst and former race mechanic for the Benetton F1 team Steve Matchett. F1 insider Will Buxton will serve as the team’s on-site reporter from the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria. NBCSN will also provide GP2 coverage from Austria on Saturday night at 9 p.m. ET.

 


RED BULL GLOBAL RALLYCROSS – DAYTONA – SUNDAY AT 2 P.M. ET ON NBC

NBC continues its coverage of the Red Bull Global RallyCross season with this week’s event from Daytona International Speedway on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET. In the first race of the season on May 31, Ken Block (Hoonigan Racing Division) took first place ahead of Scott Speed (Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross) to kick off 2015 with a victory.

Toby Moody (play-by-play) will call the action, alongside NBC Sports Group motorsports analyst Townsend Bell and reporter Kristen Kenney.
NASCAR WHELEN MODIFIED TOUR – MR. ROOTER 125 – THURSDAY AT 5:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

NBCSN continues its coverage of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour this Thursday at 5:30 p.m. ET with a presentation of the Mr. Rooter 125 from Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park in Thompson, Conn. Ryan Preece entered the race looking to extend his winning streak to three races, following back-to-back wins in the Mr. Rooter 161 and TSI Harley-Davidson 125.

Ralph Sheheen (play-by-play) and Ray Evernham (analyst) have the call of the Mr. Rooter 125.
