STAMFORD, Conn. – June 3, 2015 – “NBC Sports Championship Season” coverage takes center stage this weekend with numerous high-profile events including the 147th Belmont Stakes featuring Triple Crown contender American Pharoah, Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final between the Chicago Blackhawks and Tampa Bay Lightning, the Women’s and Men’s Finals in the 2015 French Open, Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on NBC, the IndyCar Firestone 600, the Formula One Canadian Grand Prix, and Lucas Oil Motocross.

In addition to this weekend’s events, NBC Sports Championship Season” featured the first two legs of the Triple Crown, The Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, and The Players Championship, which took place last month. Championship Season” continues through July with the remainder of the 2015 Stanley Cup Final between the Chicago Blackhawks and Tampa Bay Lightning, and the 2015 Tour de France.

2015 FRENCH OPEN

NBC Sports’ coverage of the 2015 French Open continues tomorrow with the Women’s Semifinal matches at 11 a.m. ET and the Men’s Semifinal matches this Friday at 11 a.m. ET. Weekend coverage includes the live Women’s Final on Saturday and the live Men’s Final on Sunday, both at 9 a.m. ET.

No. 1 ranked Novak Djokovic, who beat defending champion Rafael Nadal at the French Open for the first time earlier today, looks to complete his career grand slam at Roland Garros. Top-ranked Serena Williams is a two-time French Open champion, and returns to Roland Garros following a second-round loss last year.

Host Ted Robinson anchors NBC’s coverage, joined by analysts John McEnroe and Mary Carillo. This is Robinson’s 16th French Open in the anchor chair for NBC. McEnroe and Carillo teamed to win the mixed doubles title at the 1977 French Open.  This is NBC’s 33rd consecutive year televising the event.

PREMIER BOXING CHAMPIONS

Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero returns to PBC on NBC to face Aron Martinez (19-3-1, 4 KOs), live at 3 p.m. ET this Saturday, June 6, headlining Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on NBC. Coverage begins with a bout between two undefeated heavyweights, 2012 U.S. Olympian Dominic Breazeale (14-0-0, 13 KOs) and Yasmany Consuegra (17-0-0, 14 KOs). Following the NBC show, live boxing continues at 4:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

Blow-by-blow announcer Marv Albert hosts coverage from the from the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif., alongside “Sugar” Ray Leonard (analyst), professional boxer Daniel Jacobs (analyst), Todd Harris (reporter), and veteran boxing referee Steve Smoger.

THE BELMONT STAKES

Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner American Pharoah runs for history, aiming to become the first Triple Crown winner since Affirmed in 1978, as NBC Sports Group presents the 147th Belmont Stakes this Saturday, June 6, at 4:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Coverage from Belmont Park in Elmont, N.Y., begins this Friday, June 5, at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

STANLEY CUP FINAL

NBC Sports Group continues exclusive coverage of its 10th consecutive Stanley Cup Final on Saturday at 7:15 p.m. ET, immediately following coverage of the Belmont Stakes, when Steven Stamkos and the Tampa Bay Lightning host Jonathan Toews and the Chicago Blackhawks in Game 2.

Three-time Emmy Award-winning play-by-play commentator and Sports Illustrated 2014 Media Person of the Year Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick and Emmy Award-winning Inside-the-Glass analyst Pierre McGuire will have the call for Game 2. Host Liam McHugh will anchor intermission reports on-site, alongside analysts and former players Mike Milbury, Keith Jones and Jeremy Roenick.

INDYCAR FIRESTONE 600, FORMULA ONE CANADIAN GRAND PRIX & LUCAS OIL PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP

NBC Sports Group will present more than 40 hours of motorsports coverage this weekend, highlighted by live coverage of the IndyCar Firestone 600 on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN, as the Verizon IndyCar Series resumes on NBCSN for the final eight races of the 2015 season.

NBC continues its 2015 Formula One coverage this weekend with the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on NBC. NBC’s motorsports coverage begins Saturday at 2 p.m. ET with live coverage of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship Tennessee National.

Brian Till (play-by-play) will call the Firestone 600 from Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas, alongside driving analysts Townsend Bell and Paul Tracy. Reporters Marty Snider, Kelly Stavast, Robin Miller and Kevin Lee will report from the pits.

NBC Sports Group’s lead F1 broadcast team of Leigh Diffey (play-by-play), veteran analyst and former racecar driver David Hobbs, analyst and former race mechanic for the Benetton F1 team Steve Matchett, and F1 insider Will Buxton will call the F1 Canadian Grand Prix on-site from the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Canada.

Veteran play-by-play voice Jason Weigandt, analyst and two-time AMA Pro Motocross Champion Grant Langston, and pit reporter Georgia Lindsay will call Tennessee National from Muddy Creek Raceway in Blountville, Tenn.
