STAMFORD, Conn. – May 21, 2015 – NBC Sports’ Championship Season coverage takes center stage this Sunday with numerous high-profile events airing on NBC and NBCSN, including Game 5 of the NHL Eastern Conference Final between Tampa Bay Lightning and the New York Rangers; the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix; Premier League’s “Championship Sunday;” the first round of the 2015 French Open; and the Senior PGA Championship.

“Championship Season” consists of high-profile events from May through July, and continues with the 2015 Stanley Cup Final, the 147th Belmont Stakes featuring Triple Crown contender American Pharoah, The Men’s and Women’s French Open Finals, and the 2015 Tour de France.

 


FORMULA ONE MONACO GRAND PRIX

NBC Sports Group begins its Sunday of Champions with live coverage of the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday at 7:30 a.m. ET on NBC. Nico Rosberg (Mercedes) is looking to win his third consecutive Monaco Grand Prix this year, after earning his second straight wire-to-wire win in Monte Carlo last year.

NBC Sports Group’s F1 team of play-by-play voice Leigh Diffey, analysts David Hobbs and Steve Matchett, and F1 insider and pit reporter Will Buxton will call the action on-site in Monte Carlo.

PREMIER LEAGUE “CHAMPIONSHIP SUNDAY”

NBCUniversal presents a blockbuster “Championship Sunday,” with all 10 matches presented live simultaneously on 10 different NBCUniversal television networks this Sunday, May 24 at 10 a.m. ET. NBC and TELEMUNDO host coverage of Hull City v. Manchester United, with 2014-15 Champions Chelsea v. Sunderland on NBCSN and NBC UNIVERSO. In addition, all 10 matches will be streamed on NBC Sports Live Extra, NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices and tablets.

NBC Sports Group’s lead Premier League play-by-play announcers Arlo White calls Hull City v. Manchester United, joined by analysts Lee Dixon and Graeme Le Saux at KC Stadium.

NBCUniversal’s “Championship Sunday” coverage kicks off at 9 a.m. ET with Premier League Live on NBCSN featuring Rebecca LoweRobbie EarleKyle Martino, and Robbie Mustoe. Following the matches on each of the 10 networks, there will be a special one-minute sneak preview of Universal Pictures’ Jurassic World, which premieres Friday, June 12.

2015 FRENCH OPEN

NBC’s coverage of the 2015 French Open begins this Sunday, May 24, at 1 p.m. ET with live opening-round coverage. Defending champion Rafael Nadal headlines the men’s field with a record nine French Open titles (2005-2008, 2010-2014), while No. 1 ranked Novak Djokovic, beaten in last year’s final by Nadal, looks to complete his career grand slam at Roland Garros.

Top-ranked Serena Williams is a two-time French Open champion, and returns to Roland Garros following a second-round loss last year. Williams faces competition from two-time French Open winner and defending champion Maria Sharapova.

Host Ted Robinson anchors NBC’s coverage, joined by analysts John McEnroe and Mary Carillo. This is Robinson’s 16th French Open in the anchor chair for NBC. McEnroe and Carillo teamed to win the mixed doubles title at the 1977 French Open.  This is NBC’s 33rd consecutive year televising the event. Click here for more information.

 


SENIOR PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

The Champions Tour stages its second major as Colin Montgomerie defends the Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid from French Lick Resort (Pete Dye Course) in Indiana, with live final-round coverage on NBC Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET.

Dan Hicks handles play-by-play, and will be joined by Gary Koch (analyst), Mark Rolfing (tower), Roger Maltbie and Billy Kratzert (on-course), and Steve Sands (interviews).

 


2015 STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS

NBC Sports Group’s Sunday of Champions concludes on NBCSN at 8 p.m. ET with Game 5 of the NHL’s Eastern Conference Final, when Henrik Lundqvist and the New York Rangers host Steven Stamkos and the Tampa Bay Lightning. Coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET with NHL Live, hosted by Liam McHugh, alongside former players and analysts Mike Milbury and Keith Jones.

Three-time Emmy Award-winning play-by-play commentator and Sports Illustrated 2014 Media Person of the Year Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick, U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member and analyst Eddie Olczyk, and Emmy Award-winning Inside-the-Glass analyst Pierre McGuire will have the call from Madison Square Garden in New York.
