STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS

The 2015 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs Eastern and Western Conference Finals begin this weekend with a pair of Game 1 matchups on NBC. Coverage begins Saturday at 1 p.m. ET on NBC with Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final, when Henrik Lunqdvist and the Rangers host Steven Stamkos and the Tampa Bay Lightning. NBC will present Game 1 of the Western Conference Final on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET, when Ryan Getzlaf and the Anaheim Ducks host Patrick Kane and the Chicago Blackhawks.

Calling Lightning-Rangers from Madison Square Garden is Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick (play-by-play) and Pierre McGuire (Inside-the-Glass analyst). Kenny Albert (play-by-play), Joe Micheletti (analyst), and Brian Engblom (Inside-the-Glass analyst) call Blackhawks-Ducks from the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

This weekend’s pre-game and intermission coverage on NBC will be hosted by Liam McHugh, alongside analysts and former players Mike Milbury and Keith Jones.

In addition to the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, NBC Sports Live Extra presents exclusive coverage of the IIHF World Hockey Championship Semifinals tomorrow at 1 p.m. ET, when Jack Eichel and Team USA look to advance to the gold medal game with a victory against Russia.

NBCSN will present live coverage of the gold medal final on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET, featuring the winners of USA-Russia and Canada-Czech Republic. NBC Sports Live Extra will also stream the bronze medal game on Sunday at 10 a.m. ET.

 

PREAKNESS STAKES

Kentucky Derby winner American Pharoah leads the field as NBC Sports Group presents 6.5 hours of coverage of the 140th running of the Preakness Stakes, the middle jewel of the Triple Crown. Saturday’s coverage begins at 2:30 p.m. ET with Preakness Saturday on NBCSN leading into the main event, Preakness Stakes Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Coverage concludes with the Preakness Post-Race Show at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

NBC Sports Group’s coverage of the Preakness Stakes features hosts Bob Costas, a 26-time Emmy Award-winner, and Tom Hammond, a veteran NBC Sports commentator; analysts Randy Moss and Jerry Bailey, the Hall of Fame jockey and two-time Preakness winner; analysts/handicappers Bob Neumeier and Eddie Olczyk; NBCSN host/NBC reporter Laffit Pincay, III; reporters Kenny Rice, Donna Brothers and Jay Privman; and race caller Larry Collmus. Josh Elliott and Carolyn Manno provide a mix of features and interviews at Pimlico Race Course.

 

PREMIER LEAGUE

NBC Sports Group’s weekend Premier League coverage begins Saturday at 6 a.m. ET on NBCSN with Barclays Premier League Preview, followed by Premier League Live at 7 a.m. ET. Beginning at 10 a.m. ET, NBCSN presents a special Relegation Breakaway featuring RedZone-like live look-ins on the best action from relegation-threatened 16th-place Sunderland v. 15th-place Leicester City, Tottenham v. 18th-place Hull City and Queens Park Rangers v. 17th-place Newcastle.  In addition, all matches in the 10 a.m. ET window, including Sunderland v. Leicester City, Queens Park Rangers v. Newcastle, Tottenham v. Hull City, Burnley v. Stoke City and West Ham v. Everton will be available in their entirety via live stream on NBC Sports Live Extra and on Premier League Extra Time. Saturday’s live match coverage wraps up with Liverpool v. Crystal Palace at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

NBC Sports Group’s lead Premier League play-by-play announcer Arlo White calls Liverpool v. Crystal Palace, joined by Graeme Le Saux at Anfield.

Sunday’s Premier League coverage begins at 7:30 a.m. ET on NBCSN with Premier League Live, followed by Swansea City v. Manchester City at 8:30 a.m. ET. Coverage continues on NBCSN with Manchester United v. Arsenal at 11 a.m. ET, and wraps up with Premier League Goal Zone at 1 p.m. ET.

White calls the Manchester United v. Arsenal match, joined by analyst Lee Dixon at Old Trafford.

Highlighting Golf Channel’s live tournament coverage this weekend is the Champion’s Tour Regions Tradition, the first major for the Champions Tour of 2015. In addition to the Regions Tradition, Golf Channel also presents coverage of the PGA Tour’s Wells Fargo Championship, LPGA’s Kingsmill Championship, European Tour’s Open de Espana, and the Web.com Tour’s BMW Charity Pro-Am.

Golf Channel’s weekend coverage of the PGA Tour’s Wells Fargo Championship begins Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.

Terry Gannon (play-by-play) and Nick Faldo (analyst) host coverage from Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, N.C. Joining Gannon and Faldo are Gary McCord and Matt Gogel (tower), Phil Parkin (on-course), and Todd Lewis (interviews).

The LPGA Tour’s Kingsmill Championship begins tonight at 9 p.m. ET on Golf Channel, and continues Saturday and Sunday at 5 p.m. ET.

Tom Abbott leads Golf Channel’s team from the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va. Joining Abbott will be Judy Rankin (analyst), Curt Byrum (tower), and Jerry Foltz and Karen Stupples (on-course).

Golf Channel’s live tournament coverage continues with the Champions Tour’s Regions Tradition, beginning Saturday at 3 p.m. ET, and continuing Sunday at 3 p.m. ET.

Calling the action from Shoal Creek Golf Club in Shoal Creek, Ala. will be Bob Papa (play-by-play), Lanny Wadkins (analyst), John Mahaffey and David Marr (tower) and Billy Ray Brown (on-course).

Coverage of the European Tour’s Open de Espana begins at 6:30 a.m. ET on Golf Channel, and continues Sunday with coverage of the final round at 7 a.m. ET.

Mike Ritz hosts coverage from Golf Channel’s studio in Orlando, Fla., joined by Dougie Donnelly (play-by-play), Warren Humphreys (analyst) and Jay Townsend (on course) from the Real Club de Golf El Prat in Terrassa, Spain.

Rounding out Golf Channel’s live tournament coverage this weekend is the Web.com Tour’s BMW Charity Pro-Am, beginning tonight at 7 p.m. ET. Coverage continues Saturday and Sunday at 7 p.m. ET.

MOTORSPORTS

This weekend’s motorsports coverage on NBCSN is highlighted by Dana Mecum’s 28th annual Spring Classic auction in Indianapolis, recognized as the world’s original and largest muscle car auction, spanning six days and featuring nearly 2,000 vehicles. Coverage of the auction continues tonight at 7 p.m. ET, and continues Saturday and Sunday at 9 p.m. ET.

NBC Sports Group’s Mecum Auctions telecast team of Scott Hoke, John Kraman, Stephen Cox, and reporter Bill Stephens will call the action. Rutledge Wood will also contribute to this week’s Mecum Auctions coverage.

NBCSN kicks off its 2015 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship coverage with a live presentation of the GoPro Hangtown Motocross Classic beginning at 7 p.m. ET Saturday.

Jason Weigandt will handle play-by-play duties, alongside two-time AMA Pro Motocross Champion Grant Langston and reporter Georgia Lindsay.

 

CYCLING

NBC Sports Group’s live coverage of the 2015 Amgen Tour of California, continues tonight on NBCSN at 5 p.m. ET with Stage 6: Big Bear Lake (Time Trial), and continues Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET with Stage 7: Ontario to Mt. Baldy. NBC Sports Group’s live coverage culminates on NBC Sunday at 1 p.m. ET with the final stage from Los Angeles to Pasadena.

Phil Liggett, Paul Sherwen and 2012 USA Pro Cycling Challenge winner Christian Vande Velde are on site in California to provide commentary and insight for each day of NBC Sports Group’s coverage with reporters Steve Schlanger and Steve Porino (‘Inside-the-Race’). Jens Voigt, who won the Critérium International a record-tying five times and has three top-10 Tour of California finishes, is making his NBC Sports Group debut as an analyst and reporter.
