NBC Sports Digital to Live Stream PBC on NBC Weigh-Ins via Meerkat
For the first time ever, NBC Sports Digital will use Meerkat, a mobile application that allows users to stream live video via Twitter, to live stream the weigh-ins for this weekend’s Premier Boxing Champions on NBC card. On Friday, April 10 the @NBCSports Twitter handle will broadcast undefeated Danny “Swift” Garcia (29-0, 17 KOs), Lamont Peterson (33-2-1, 17 KOs), middleweight titleholder “Irish” Andy Lee (34-2, 24 KOs), and undefeated Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin (31-0, 22 KOs) as they weigh-in before their primetime NBC debuts on Saturday, April 11, at 8:30 p.m. ET, from Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Golf Channel’s coverage of the Drive, Chip & Putt Championship National Finals on Sunday kicked off the network’s coverage of Masters Week and sparked significant social media engagement.
The event, which featured 80 junior golfers (ages 7-15) competing at the famed Augusta National Golf Club, garnered more than 5,700 tweets from viewers tuning in and more than 41 million total impressions.
