NBC Sports & Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson Break GUINNESS WORLD RECORD®

As part of NBC Sports Digital’s social media strategy surrounding Super Bowl XLIX, Arizona Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson visited Deer Valley High School in Glendale, Ariz., on Tuesday, Jan. 27, and broke the world record for most selfies taken in an hour. The four-time Pro Bowler, and NBC Sports Digital’s social media correspondent during Super Bowl week, snapped 1449 selfies, breaking the previous record of 657 according to GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS®.

Three videos posted to NBC Sports’ Facebook accounts from the record attempt garnered 579,000 views. Along with students from Deer Valley High School, Peterson was in every photo and took every picture himself.

NBC Sports Group teamed with Dude Perfect

NBC Sports Group teamed with trick-shot experts Dude Perfect to create a trick shot video that debuted during NBC’s Super Bowl XLIX Pre-Game Show. The video featured 2014 PWFA Rookie of the Year and AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, Giants WR and rookie sensation Odell Beckham Jr. Stunts performed by Beckham Jr. included throwing a football from the upper stadium deck at ASU’s Sun Devil Stadium into a basketball hoop placed on the field, and catching several throws in his signature one-handed style.

In addition, the team at Dude Perfect interviewed two-time Super Bowl winner, Super Bowl XL MVP, and NBC NFL analyst Hines Ward and athletes at NFL Media Day for the four-minute video. The video can be seen on NBCSports.com/DudePerfect, and on Dude Perfect’s YouTube page.

NBC Sports’ Super Bowl Tumblr Experience

NBC Sports Digital’s Super Bowl-centric Tumblr page delivered 2.2 million views since Super Bowl Sunday, with 1.4 million video views for Super Bowl XLIX’s television advertisements. Prior to Super Bowl Sunday, the page was populated with original content created by NBC Sports’ marketing media team, as well as from re-blogging NFL-related Tumblr posts. On game day, the page transformed into a hub for Super Bowl TV ads, and was updated with new ads immediately after they aired on NBC.
