NBCUniversal Wins Emmy for Pioneering Deployment of TV Everywhere Live Streaming

Stamford, Conn. – January 10, 2015 – NBCUniversal and NBC Sports Group won the 2014 Technology and Engineering Emmy Award for Pioneering Multiplatform Video Delivery, as was announced this past Thursday night at the 66th Annual Technology and Engineering Emmy Awards in Las Vegas, Nev.

The award is shared by NBCUniversal Operations and Technical Services and NBC Sports Group in recognition of technical innovations surrounding their Olympics and 24/7 TV Everywhere live streaming efforts. 

“We appreciate that the industry has recognized our production efforts in this category, and want to extend our congratulations to all of this year’s winners and nominees, said Eric Black, Vice President, Technology, NBC Sports and Olympics. “NBCUniversal and NBC Sports Group were the first to ever live stream the Summer Olympics, Winter Olympics and Super Bowl, and NBC Sports Live Extra annually live streams more than 4000 sports events.”

The Emmy Award for the category was also given to Time Warner Cable and Major League Baseball Advanced Media.
