NBCSN TO PRESENT COVERAGE OF THE 2015 DAKAR RALLY STARTING TODAY

Coverage of Annual 13-Stage Off-Road Race Begins Today at 4:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN, Continues Through Jan. 18

Combined Routes for Cars, Trucks, Quads and Motorcycles Span More Than 5,500 Miles Across Three South American Countries

STAMFORD, Conn. – Jan. 5, 2015 – More than 400 teams of competitors will compete in the world’s most challenging off-road endurance race starting today, when NBCSN begins its coverage of the 2015 Dakar Rally at 4:30 p.m. ET.

This year’s race is 37th installment of the Dakar Rally, and will span more than 5,500 miles and three South American countries. The 13-stage event begins in Buenos Aires, Argentina, before weaving through Chile and Bolivia, and concluding back in Buenos Aires.

NBCSN will present coverage of all 13 stages of the race beginning today at 4:30 p.m. ET. NBC Sports Group’s lead F1 and IndyCar play-by-play voice Leigh Diffey will provide commentary throughout NBCSN’s Dakar Rally coverage, which concludes on Jan. 18.

Former NASCAR and IndyCar driver Robby Gordon is racing in his 10th Dakar Rally, and had a career-best third-place finish in 2009, while Stephane Peterhansel will aim for his 12th Dakar Rally title. Defending champion Nani Roma returns alongside co-driver Michel Perin as they look to become back-to-back winners.
