NFL Turning Point Hosted by Football Night In America’s Dan Patrick

Stamford, Conn. – December 23, 2014 – Wednesday night’s edition of NFL Turning Point, NBCSN’s Emmy Award-nominated weekly NFL show co-produced by NFL Films, will feature in-depth analysis of Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers playoff-clinching victory on Sunday over the Kansas City Chiefs. Airing tomorrow night at 10 p.m. ET, NFL Turning Point will break down the game and review how the Steelers defense was able to repeatedly stop Alex Smith and one of the best Red Zone offenses in the league.

In addition, the all new episode will examine Cam Newton’s return to the Panthers, the Falcons matchup with the Saints in New Orleans, and Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch’s 79-yard touchdown run against the Cardinals. NFL Turning Point also features a wired-for-sound segment with Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill and head coach Joe Philbin, as well as an exclusive film study session with Chargers S Eric Weddle.

Hosted by Football Night In America’s Dan Patrick, the hour-long program will air throughout the entire NFL season, including the playoffs and Super Bowl.

  • Chiefs-SteelersNFL Turning Point shines a spotlight on the strong performance of the Steelers defense, including how the Steelers stopped the Chiefs on fourth-and-1, with under a minute to play in the first half. In addition, NFL Films highlights the play of Steelers James HarrisonLawrence TimmonsJason Worilds and Cameron Heyward, who combined for six sacks and helped prevent the Chiefs from scoring a touchdown the entire game.
  • Panthers-Browns: NFL Films examines Cam Newton’s first game back since being injured, and how he was able to lead the Panthers to victory over the Browns. The segment studies Newton’s overall play, including the team’s game-winning scoring drive late in the fourth-quarter.
  • Marshawn LynchNFL Turning Point studies Lynch’s Desert Storm 79-yard touchdown run against the Cardinals on Sunday Night Football, and how it compares with his Beast Quake 67-yard touchdown run against the Saints.
  • Ryan Tannehill and Joe Philbin: NFL Films highlights the sounds from Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill and head coach Joe Philbin, who were both wired-for-sound during Miami’s win against Minnesota.
  • Falcons-SaintsNFL Turning Point breaks down Atlanta’s goal line stand against New Orleans in the fourth-quarter. The segment also reviews the four turnovers forced by the Falcons defense, including interceptions by CB’s Desmond Trufant and Robert McClain, as well as the forced fumble by S Kemal Ishmael.
  • Eric Weddle: NFL Films conducts an exclusive film study session with San Diego Chargers S Eric Weddle, in which Weddle discusses his position and what allows him to excel at his game.

 

Each week Emmy-nominated NFL Turning Point is built around select NFL matchups from the previous weekend, and focuses on the crucial “turning point” moments that ultimately defined the outcome of each game. The show also features anatomy-of-a-play type segments and long form, Game-of-the-Week style narratives that include the pre-game and post-game access, sideline sounds, jaw-dropping cinematography and incredible storytelling that is synonymous with NFL Films.

In 2014 NBCSN will air a total of 22 episodes, running throughout the entire NFL season, including the playoffs and Super Bowl. The season finale, scheduled to air on Wednesday, February 4, 2015, will look back at the turning point of Super Bowl XLIX.
