STAMFORD, Conn. – Dec. 10, 2014 – NBCSN will present 10 hours of Mecum Auctions coverage this week, featuring more than 600 classic and collector cars from their Austin auction, beginning Friday night at 6:30 p.m. ET. NBC Sports Live Extra – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, and tablets – will provide streaming coverage.

In addition, NBCSN will present a marathon of Mecum Dealmakers on Thursday night, highlighted by the premiere of Mecum Dealmakers: Chicago. Mecum Dealmakers is NBCSN’s original series which tells the stories of how the most unique cars from each auction make their way across the auction block.

This weekend’s Austin auction will include a wide array of American muscle cars, classic cars, hot rods, and much more. Top vehicles up for auction include a 1967 Ford Mustang “Eleanor,” one of three Hero Cars used in the 2000 remake of the film Gone in 60 Seconds, a 2006 Ford GT with just 267 miles, and a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible formerly owned by astronaut Gus Grissom. Mecum Auctions: Austin coverage begins Friday night at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN, and continues with live auction action from Austin on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. ET.

Scott Hoke will host NBC Sports Group’s Mecum Auctions coverage this week from the Austin Convention Center, alongside analysts John Kraman, Stephen Cox, and reporter Bill Stephens.

NBCSN will also present a new episode from the Mecum Dealmakers series, highlighting the stories behind the top cars sold at this year’s Chicago auction, tomorrow night at 9 p.m. ET. This week’s debut of Mecum Dealmakers: Chicago will feature a behind-the-scenes look at a 1974 Nickey Camaro, the last to ever be built at Nickey Chevrolet in Chicago, as well as a one-of-a-kind 1975 Harley Davidson Evel Knievel trike, customized by legendary car designer and builder George Barris. Tomorrow night’s episode is part of a Mecum Dealmakers marathon on NBCSN, which begins at 7 p.m. ET with an encore presentation of Mecum Dealmakers: Monterey.

Mecum Dealmakers, which dovetails off of the Mecum Auctions series on NBCSN, tells the story of President and Founder Dana Mecum and his son Frank Mecum, as the father-son tandem works together to manage the high pressure of the auction floor, where buyers and sellers hope to make the deal of a lifetime, often with hundreds of thousands of dollars on the line.
