SEAHAWKS-49ERS ON NBC RANKS AS NFL’S MOST-WATCHED THANKSGIVING PRIMETIME GAME

NEARLY 23 MILLION WATCH NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME REMATCH

 

STAMFORD, Conn. – November 28, 2014 – The Seattle Seahawks’ 19-3 victory over the San Francisco 49ers last night on NBC’s Sunday Night Football on Thanksgiving Night averaged 22.9 million viewers, to rank as the NFL’s most-watched Thanksgiving primetime game, topping by 9% last year’s game (21.1 million for Baltimore’s two-point home win over Pittsburgh), according to fast national data released today by The Nielsen Company. The NFL introduced the Thanksgiving primetime game in 2006.

 

Last night’s rematch of the 2013 NFC Championship Game (8:31-11:20 pm ET) posted a 11.4/23 fast national rating – up 4% from the 11.0/22 for Steelers-Ravens last year. The Seahawks’ victory, highlighted by Marshawn Lynch’s 104 rushing yards and Richard Sherman’s two interceptions, is their fifth win in six games as they improved to 8-4.
