NO. 6 NOTRE DAME HOSTS NORTH CAROLINA THIS SATURDAY AT 3:30 P.M. ET ON NBC

Notre Dame Pre-Game Show Countdown To Kickoff Begins at 3 p.m. ET Live on NBC with Liam McHugh, Doug Flutie and Hines Ward

STAMFORD, Conn. – Oct. 9, 2014 – The No. 6 Notre Dame Fighting Irish look to continue their undefeated start to the 2014 season with a victory against the North Carolina Tar Heels this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Coverage begins with Countdown to Kickoff, NBC Sports Group’s Notre Dame pre-game show, at 3 p.m. ET on NBC.

The Fighting Irish (5-0) are coming off a dramatic 17-14 win last Saturday over the then-No. 13 Stanford Cardinal, punctuated by QB Everett Golson’s go-ahead touchdown pass to TE Ben Koyack on 4th-and-11 with 61 seconds left in regulation to give Notre Dame the win. The Tar Heels (2-3) have lost three straight contests, including a 34-17 loss to Virginia Tech last Saturday.

Saturday’s matchup against North Carolina is the 19th all-time meeting between the Fighting Irish and the Tar Heels. Notre Dame holds a commanding 16-2 lead in the all-time series, including an 11-0 mark against North Carolina in South Bend.

Dan Hicks (@DanHicksNBC), NBC Sports Group’s longtime and critically-acclaimed golf and Olympic commentator, calls Saturday’s game alongside Emmy Award-nominated analyst Mike Mayock and sideline reporter Kathryn Tappen (@KathrynTappen).

Liam McHugh (@liam_mchugh) will host Countdown To Kickoff at 3 p.m. ET on NBC, on-site at Notre Dame Stadium. He will be joined by 1984 Heisman Trophy Winner Doug Flutie (@DougFlutie) and two-time Super Bowl champion Hines Ward (@MVP86HinesWard). McHugh, Flutie and Ward will also manage half-time coverage, as well as the post-game show, which will air on NBCSN.

In addition to his studio duties, Flutie will also provide analysis from the sidelines during the game, analyzing specific matchups and key plays from his unique perspective.

 

WILLIAM & MARY (#10) AT NEW HAMPSHIRE (#4) – SATURDAY AT 3:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

NBCSN will present a showdown of two of the top teams in the Colonial Athletic Association this weekend, when the New Hampshire Wildcats host the William & Mary Tribe at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. Both teams enter play with 4-1 records overall, and have yet to lose in conference play. New Hampshire is currently ranked No. 4 in Division I-AA, while William & Mary is No. 10.

Paul Burmeister (play-by-play) and Anthony Herron (analyst) will call the action from Cowell Stadium in Durham, N.H.

Additionally, fans can watch in-game highlights, live coverage of the Notre Dame and visiting teams’ bands at halftime, as well as live postgame footage that will include head coach Brian Kelly’s press conference.

Following this Saturday’s game against Stanford, NBC Sports Group’s returns on Saturday, November 15 at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC, when the Fighting Irish host the Northwestern Wildcats.
