SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers look to start 3-0 for the first time since 2003, when they host Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1) on Sunday Night Football. Coverage begins with Football Night In America at 7 p.m. ET on NBC.

Calling Steelers-Panthers from Charlotte, N.C.,  is Al Michaels (pl;ay-by-play), Cris Collinsworth (analyst) and Michele Tafoya (sideline reporter).

Football Night in America, the most-watched studio show in sports, is hosted by Bob Costas, who will report from Bank of America Stadium on Sunday. Costas will be joined on site by Collinsworth, Tafoya, Hines Ward, and NBC Sports commentator Josh Elliott.

Dan Patrick co-hosts Football Night from NBC Sports Group’s Studio 1 and will be joined by Tony Dungy, Rodney Harrison, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk on NBCSN and NBCSports.com, and Peter King of Sports Illustrated. Alex Flanagan will report from CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Wash., on the Broncos-Seahawks game.

 

PREMIER LEAGUE

NBC Sports Group’s Premier League coverage this week begins on Saturday at 7 a.m. ET on NBCSN with Premier League Live, followed by Queens Park Rangers hosting Stoke City. Coverage continues at 10:30 a.m. ET with Arsenal vs. Aston Villa.

Saturday’s live coverage wraps up with West Ham hosting last season’s runners-up Liverpool at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBC. White is joined by Graeme Le Saux for the call.

Sunday, coverage begins at 8 a.m. ET with Premier League Live on CNBC, followed by Leicester City hosting Manchester United. League leaders Chelsea visit last season’s champions Manchester City at 11 a.m. ET Sunday on NBCSN and Telemundo, highlighting NBC Sports Group’s Premier League coverage this weekend.

NBC Sports Group’s Premier League lead play-by-play announcer Arlo White calls Manchester City v. Chelsea, joined by Jim Beglin at the Etihad Stadium. Match coverage begins with Premier League Live at 10:30 a.m. ET on NBCSN.

All matches not shown on NBCSN in the Saturday 10 a.m. ET, Sunday 8:30 a.m. ET and Sunday 11 a.m. ET windows will be available on Premier League Extra Time, a bonus television package available to MVPDs at no extra cost for customers who receive NBCSN.

This Sunday’s Goal Zone at 1p.m. ET on NBCSN will be hosted by Rebecca Lowe, joined by former Premier League footballer Robbie Mustoe and former Major League Soccer and U.S. Men’s National Team midfielder Kyle Martino. The show will also feature an update from Men in Blazers’ Michael Davies and Roger Bennett.

All matches will be preceded and followed by Premier League Live pre- and post-match shows from the NBC Sports Group International Broadcast Center in Stamford, Conn. Lowe hosts Premier League Live alongside Mustoe and Martino.

Twenty-five 2014-15 PGA TOUR cards are on the line at week’s end as the 2014 Web.com Tour season concludes at TPC Sawgrass’ Dye’s Valley course with the Web.com Tour Championship. Weekend coverage begins Saturday at 2 p.m. ET on Golf Channel, and continues with the final round Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.

Calling the action for Golf Channel is Whit Watson (play-by-play), Craig Perks (analyst), Phil Blackmar (tower), Kay Cockerill (on course), Rich Beem (on course), and Billy Kratzert (on course).

Coverage of the Pacific Links Hawaii Championship continues on Golf Channel Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET, and wraps up with the final round Sunday at 8 p.m. ET, also on Golf Channel.

Golf Channel’s Brian Hammons calls the action from Kapolei Golf Course.  Joining Hammons will be Lanny Wadkins (analyst), Dave Marr (tower), John Mahaffey (tower) and Billy Ray Brown (on course).

Weekend coverage of the LPGA’s Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic begins tonight at 5 p.m. ET on Golf Channel, and continues Saturday at 5 p.m. ET. Golf Channel’s live coverage of the final round begins Sunday at 5 p.m. ET.

Randy Moss (play-by-play) leads the team calling the action from Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. Joining Moss will be Karen Stupple (analyst), Curt Byrum (tower), Jerry Foltz (on course) and Phil Parkin (on course).

Golf Channel’s weekend coverage of the European Tour’s ISPS Handa Wales Open begins Saturday at 8:30 a.m. ET, and culminates with the final round Sunday at 8 a.m. ET.

Mike Ritz hosts from the studio in Orlando.  Joining Ritz is Kim Thomas (play-by-play), Warren Humphreys and Julian Tutt (analyst), and Ken Brown (on course).

Coverage of the Asian Tour’s Worldwide Holdings Selangor Masters begins Saturday at 5:30 a.m. ET, and continues Sunday at 6 a.m. ET on Golf Channel.

 

MOTORSPORTS

NBC Sports Group continues its presentation of the 2014 Formula One season “under the lights” this weekend, with comprehensive coverage of the Singapore Grand Prix across NBCSN, CNBC and NBC Sports Live Extra.

Coverage of the F1 Singapore Grand Prix begins tonight at 5 p.m. ET with F1 Countdown, and continues Saturday at 12:30 a.m. ET with an encore presentation of F1 Singapore Grand Prix – Practice 2. Coverage of Saturday’s qualifying races begins at 9 a.m. ET on CNBC, with an encore presentation at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

The weekend’s action concludes with live Singapore Grand Prix coverage Sunday at 7:30 a.m. ET, followed by F1 Extra at 10 a.m. ET.

Lead F1 announcer Leigh Diffey will call the Singapore Grand Prix, and will be joined by veteran analyst and former racecar driver David Hobbs, and analyst and former race mechanic for the Benetton F1 team Steve Matchett. F1 insider Will Buxton will serve as the team’s on-site reporter from the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

NBC will present coverage of the Red Bull Global Rally Cross series from Los Angeles this Saturday and Sunday at 5 p.m. ET.

Veteran motorsports play-by-play announcer Tes Sewell will call the action this weekend from the Port of Los Angeles, joined by former driver and analyst Tommy Kendall and reporter Kristen Kenney.

 

MLS

NBCSN’s coverage of Major League Soccer continues with three matches this weekend, beginning tonight at 10 p.m. ET, when third-place Real Salt Lake and host Colorado Rapids.

Philadelphia Union’s lead play-by-play announcer JP Dellacamera calls the match from Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah, joined by former MLS player Brian Dunseth and CSN Houston reporter Sebastian Salazar.

NBCSN presents a doubleheader on Saturday when the Portland Timbers, host the Vancouver Whitecaps at 5 p.m. ET. Immediately following, the New York Red Bulls and host the Seattle Sounders, who beat the Philadelphia Union Tuesday night to win the 2014 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup title.

NBC Sports Group’s lead MLS play-by-play announcer John Strong calls Portland vs Vancouver from Providence Park in Portland, Ore., joined by Bolton Wanderers (U.K.’s Football League Championship) midfielder Stuart Holden and CSN Mid-Atlantic reporter Julie Donaldson.

Steve Cangialosi, announcer for the New York Red Bulls on the MSG Network, handles play-by-play for New York vs Seattle from Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J., alongside former Jamaican National Team player Robbie Earle and host Russ Thaler.

 

FIGHT NIGHT

NBC Sports Group’s Fight Night presents its first afternoon broadcast of the year on NBC on Saturday live at 3 p.m. ET.

NBC Sports Group’s Fight Night broadcast team of play-by-play announcer Kenny Rice, analyst B.J. Flores and ringside reporter Chris Mannix will call the action.

 

EQUESTRIAN COVERAGE

On Sunday, NBCSN presents coverage of two equestrian competitions, the FEI World Equestrian Games from Normandy, France, at 2 p.m. ET, and the American Gold Cup held at Old Salem Farm in North Salem, N.Y., at 4 p.m. ET. Kenny Rice and Melanie Smith-Taylor will handle coverage of both events.
