NBCSN PRESENTS THREE MLS MATCHES THIS WEEKEND

Real Salt Lake vs Colorado Rapids Friday at 10 p.m. ET

Saturday Doubleheader: Portland Timbers vs Vancouver Whitecaps at 5 p.m. ET; New York Red Bulls vs Seattle Sounders at 7:30 p.m. ET

STAMFORD, Conn. – September 17, 2014 – NBCSN’s coverage of Major League Soccer continues with three matches this weekend, beginning Friday at 10 p.m. ET, when third-place Real Salt Lake and USMNT goalkeeper Nick Rimando and midfielder Kyle Beckerman host the Colorado Rapids.

Philadelphia Union’s lead play-by-play announcer JP Dellacamera calls the match from Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah, joined by former MLS player Brian Dunseth and CSN Houston reporter Sebastian Salazar.

NBCSN presents a doubleheader on Saturday when the Portland Timbers, led by forward Maximiliano Urruti and midfielder Diego Valeri host the Vancouver Whitecaps at 5 p.m. ET. Immediately following, the New York Red Bulls and current MLS-leading goal scorer Bradley Wright-Phillips (21 goals in 26 appearances) host the Seattle Sounders, who beat the Philadelphia Union Tuesday night to win the 2014 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup title.

NBC Sports Group’s lead MLS play-by-play announcer John Strong calls Portland vs Vancouver from Providence Park in Portland, Ore., joined by Bolton Wanderers (U.K.’s Football League Championship) midfielder Stuart Holden and CSN Mid-Atlantic reporter Julie Donaldson.

Steve Cangialosi, announcer for the New York Red Bulls on the MSG Network, handles play-by-play for New York vs Seattle from Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J., alongside former Jamaican National Team player Robbie Earle and host Russ Thaler.
