NBCSN AUGUST VIEWERSHIP UP 26% IN PRIMETIME & 20% IN TOTAL DAY FROM ’13

Premier League, Formula One & IndyCar Bolster Increases

STAMFORD, Conn. – September 4, 2014 – NBCSN’s August viewership increased 26% in primetime and 20% in Total Day (6 a.m. to 6 a.m.) compared to August 2013, according to live plus same day data released by The Nielsen Company.

NBCSN averaged 101,000 primetime viewers for the month (July 28-August 31) – up 26% from 80,000 last year, while Total Day viewership increased 20% to 71,000 (vs. 59,000 last August).

Additional August highlights:

  • The August 24 Formula One race from Belgium averaged 435,000 viewers and 223,000 viewers in the Adult 25-54 demographic — respective jumps of 70% and 53% from last year’s race.
  • Premier League viewership is up 11% since the 2014-15 season kicked off on August 16, with 416,000 average viewers (vs. 376,000 for last year’s opening three weeks). Among Adults 25-54, viewership is also up 11%, to 249,000.
  • IndyCar viewership was up 10% to 337,000 average viewers (from 305,000 last August).
