MOTORSPORTS COVERAGE

NBC Sports Group presents more than 30 hours of motorsports coverage this weekend featuring the F1 British Grand Prix, Pocono IndyCar 500 and AMA Motocross.

Motorsports coverage begins Friday at 9 a.m. ET with the F1 British Grand Prix on NBCSN. F1 British Grand Prix coverage continues Saturday with qualifying races at 8 a.m. ET on CNBC, and an encore presentation on NBCSN at 2 p.m. ET. Live coverage continues Sunday at 7:30 a.m. ET on CNBC, with an encore presentation at 5 p.m. ET on NBCSN. NBCSN will air the GP2 race from Silverstone Circuit Sunday at 11 p.m. ET.

NBC Sports’ lead F1 announcer Leigh Diffey will call the action.  Joining Diffey will be David Hobbs (analyst), Steve Matchett (analyst) and Will Buxton (on-site reporter).

NBCSN’s coverage of the Pocono IndyCar 500 from Pocono Raceway begins Saturday at 7 p.m. ET with qualifying, followed by live race coverage at 12 p.m. ET on Sunday.  NBCSN will also present coverage of the Indy Lights race from Pocono Raceway on Sunday at 4 p.m. ET.

Bob Varsha will call the Pocono IndyCar 500 on-site, alongside Paul Tracy and Townsend Bell (analysts),  and Jon Beekhuis, Kelli Stavast, Kevin Lee and Robin Miller (reporters).

NBC Sports Group’s coverage of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross RedBud National begins Saturday at 3 p.m. ET on NBC, and continues at 4 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

Calling the action from RedBud National will be Jason Weigandt (play-by-play), Grant Langston (analyst) and Georgia Lindsay (pit reporter).

 

GOLF COVERAGE

Golf Channel’s live coverage of the PGA Tour’s The Greenbrier Classic continues Friday with the second round at 3 p.m. ET. Weekend coverage begins with the third round Saturday at 1 p.m. ET, and concludes with the final round Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.

Brian Hammons (play-by-play) leads Golf Channel’s team from The Greenbrier Resort. Joining Hammons will be Frank Nobilo (analyst), Peter Oosterhuis (tower), Peter Kostis (tower), Phil Parkin (on course) and Steve Sands (interviews).

Coverage of the European Tour’s Alstom Open de France on Golf Channel continues Friday with the second round at 9:30 a.m. ET. Weekend coverage begins Saturday with the third round at 8 a.m. ET, and concludes Sunday with the final round at 7:30 a.m. ET.

Golf Channel’s Steve Burkowski hosts from the studio in Orlando, and will be joined by  Dominik Holyer (play by play), Renton Laidlaw (play-by-play), Denis Hutchinson (analyst), and Warren Humphreys (analyst) to call the action from France.

Live coverage of the Web.Com’s Nova Scotia Open continues on Golf Channel Friday at 12:30 p.m. ET. Weekend coverage begins Saturday with the third round at 3 p.m. ET, and concludes with the final round Sunday at 3 p.m. ET.

Golf Channel’s team of Jerry Foltz (play-by-play), Craig Perks (analyst), Phil Blackmar (tower) and Kay Cockerill (on course) will call the action from Canada.

 

SOCCER COVERAGE

NBCSN’s Major League Soccer coverage this weekend features a doubleheader Friday when the Houston Dynamo host the New York Red Bulls at 8:30 p.m. ET, immediately followed by LA Galaxy vs Portland Timbers at 11 p.m. ET.

New York Red Bulls announcer Steve Cangialosi (play-by-play) leads the team in Houston, alongside CSN Houston reporter Steve Cangialosi (play-by-play) and Russ Thaler (host).

NBC Sports Group’s lead MLS play-by-play announcer John Strong calls the LA Galaxy vs Portland Timbers, and is joined by Robbie Mustoe (analyst) and Russ Thaler (host).

 

TOUR DE FRANCE COVERAGE

NBC Sports Group’s coverage of the Tour de France begins Saturday at 6 a.m. ET on NBCSN with Stage 1 from Leeds to Harrogate in the UK, and continues at 2 p.m. ET on NBC. Coverage of Stage 1 culminates at 8 p.m. ET with NBCSN’s Tour Primetime. On Sunday, NBCSN’s live coverage of Stage 2 from York to Sheffield begins at 6 a.m. ET and continues at 4 p.m. ET on NBC, wrapping up with Tour Primetime at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen, the voices of cycling, will call the race action for the live shows alongside Steve Schlanger and Carolyn Manno (reporters), and Steve Porino (‘Inside-the-Race’).  In the studio Todd Harris hosts nightly coverage, alongside Bob Roll and Christian Vande Velde (analysts).

 

WORLD SERIES OF FIGHTING COVERAGE

World Series of Fighting makes its NBC debut Saturday at 4 p.m. ET, highlighted by the lightweight title fight between defending champion Justin Gaethje (11-0-0) and fellow undefeated lightweight “Notorious” Nick Newell (11-0-0).

NBC’s play-by play announcer Kenny Rice calls the action from the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Fla., alongside Bas Rutten and Joey Varner (analysts).

 

HORSE RACING COVERAGE

NBCSN’S weekend horse racing coverage features the “Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series: Win and You’re In.” Live race coverage from Belmont Park begins Saturday at 5 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

Calling the action from Belmont Park will be Laffit Pincay (host), Randy Moss (analyst) and Nick Luck (reporter).
