STAMFORD, Conn. – May 23, 2014 – NBC Sports Group’s coverage of the Stanley Cup Playoffs Eastern and Western Conference Finals continues this holiday weekend, as the Los Angeles Kings and Chicago Blackhawks face off in Game 3 on Saturday night at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, followed by the Montreal Canadiens and New York Rangers in Game 4 on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Coverage continues on Monday with Game 4 between the Blackhawks and Kings at 9 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

NBC Sports Live Extra – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, and tablets – will provide streaming coverage of this weekend’s Conference Finals.

GAME 3 – BLACKHAWKS-KINGS WESTERN CONFERENCE FINAL – TOMORROW AT 8 P.M. ET ON NBC – SERIES TIED 1-1

Coverage of the Western Conference Final shifts to NBC on tomorrow night at 8 p.m. ET, when the Los Angeles Kings host the Chicago Blackhawks in Game 3 of the series. The Kings look to carry the momentum of an impressive Game 2 victory back to Los Angeles, as Jeff Carter recorded a hat trick in the third period, three of the Kings’ six unanswered goals, to beat the Blackhawks 6-2, handing Chicago its first loss at home this postseason.

Kenny Albert (play-by-play), Joe Micheletti (analyst), and Brian Engblom (“Inside the Glass” analyst) will have the call from Staples Center in Los Angeles on tomorrow night.

NBCSN will also present Game 4 of the Blackhawks and Kings Western Conference Final on Monday night at 9 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Coverage will begin with NHL Live at 8 p.m. ET, and Albert, Micheletti and Engblom will have the call on Monday night from Los Angeles.

 

GAME 4 – CANADIENS-RANGERS EASTERN CONFERENCE FINAL – SUNDAY AT 8 P.M. ET ON NBCSN – RANGERS LEAD 2-1

NBCSN presents Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Final on Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET, as the Montreal Canadiens look to defeat the New York Rangers for a second straight game and even the series at two games apiece. In last night’s Game 3, Montreal’s Danny Briere scored with 3:02 left in regulation to break a 1-1 tie, but the Rangers’ Chris Kreider responded with a deflection with 28 seconds remaining to send the game to overtime. In the extra session, Canadiens’ rookie Alex Galchenyuk scored off a rebound at the 1:12 mark to give the Canadiens a 3-2 win, and cut their series deficit to 2-1.

Emmy Award-winning play-by-play voice Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick, analyst Eddie Olczyk and Emmy Award-winning “Inside the Glass” analyst Pierre McGuire will have the call from Madison Square Garden in New York.

 

RANGERS-CANADIENS GAME 3 TIES FOR NBCSN’S HIGHEST-RATED NHL GAME EVER IN NEW YORK MARKET

Last night’s Game 3 between the Canadiens and Rangers (8-11:15 p.m. ET) delivered a 6.5 HH rating in the New York market, tying for the highest-rated NHL game ever on NBCSN in the New York market.

Last night’s rating tied Game 5 of the 2012 Eastern Conference Final between the Rangers and the New Jersey Devils, which featured two New York market teams.

National ratings information for last night’s Game 3 between the Canadiens and Rangers are not yet available.

 

NBCSN PRESENTS IIHF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SEMIFINALS AND FINAL THIS WEEKEND

Coverage of the IIHF World Championship from Minsk, Belarus continues Saturday at 10:30 a.m. ET, when the Russia faces Sweden in the first semifinal matchup. Coverage continues at 1 p.m. ET when the Czech Republic plays Finland in the second semifinal game.

NBC Sports Live Extra will present live streaming coverage of Sunday’s bronze medal game at 9:30 a.m. ET, as well as live coverage of the semifinals and final. NBCSN will air live coverage of the gold medal game at 2 p.m. ET

Host Russ Thaler and analyst and former NHL forward Anson Carter will handle pre-game, post-game and intermission coverage throughout this weekend’s IIHF World Championship semifinals and final.
