STAMFORD, Conn. – May 8, 2014 – Tonight’s Stanley Cup Playoff doubleheader on NBCSN features important road matchups for the top seeds in the Eastern and Western Conferences, starting with Game 4 between the (1) Boston Bruins and the (3) Montreal Canadiens at 7:30 p.m. ET, as the Bruins look to even the series at two games apiece. Coverage begins with NHL Live at 6:30 p.m. ET, hosted by Liam McHugh alongside former NHL players and analysts Mike Milbury and Keith Jones.

The action shifts to the West Coast at 10 p.m. ET, where the (3) Los Angeles Kings host the (1) Anaheim Ducks in Game 3 of the Freeway Series, as the Ducks look to respond following two losses in Anaheim to start the series.

TONIGHT – MAY 8

The Canadiens host the Bruins in Game 4 of their second-round series at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN, as the Bruins look to win tonight and send the series back to Boston for Game 5 tied at two games apiece. Montreal took control of Game 3 with first period goals by Tomas Plekanec and P.K. Subban, and held on for a 4-2 victory. Subban has been a catalyst for the Canadiens, registering at least two points in all three games of this series, including the overtime game-winner in Game 1. The Bruins’ forward line of David Krejci, Milan Lucic and Jarome Iginla have combined for just five points, two of which came on an empty-net goal in Game 2. Kenny Albert (play-by-play) and Emmy Award-winning ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Pierre McGuire will call the action from Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec.

Coverage continues at 10 p.m. ET on NBCSN with Game 3 between the Ducks and Kings, as Anaheim faces a tall task on the road in Los Angeles, trailing the series 2-0 after a pair of home losses. Los Angeles has been led by Anze Kopitar, who leads all players with 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) this postseason, and has at least one point in all nine games, and goaltender Jonathan Quick, who has allowed just five goals over his last five games. John Forslund (play-by-play) and Brian Engblom (analyst) will have the call from Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif.

COVERAGE OF IIHF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BEGINS FRIDAY WITH TEAM USA VS. BELARUS AT 1:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

NBC Sports Group’s coverage of the 2014 IIHF World Championship from Minsk, Belarus begins tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. ET, with Team USA against Belarus in the first of seven preliminary-round matches that will air live on NBCSN.

 

The 2014 IIHF World Championship marks the 78th installment of the tournament, which began in 1920. The results of the IIHF World Championship, along with Winter Olympics ice hockey results, help determine the IIHF World Ranking for the top men’s ice hockey teams in the world.

Dennis Beyak (play-by-play) and Dave Reid (analyst) will call the action from Minsk, while Russ Thaler and Anson Carter will provide studio coverage on Friday.
