COMCAST SPORTSNET TO PROVIDE COMPREHENSIVE COVERAGE OF WIZARDS-BULLS FIRST-ROUND NBA PLAYOFF SERIES

Bethesda, Md. (April 17, 2014) – Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic’s comprehensive multi-platform coverage of the Washington Wizards’ 2014 first-round NBA playoff series against the Chicago Bulls will be highlighted by live coverage of up to six games, beginning with the opener at Chicago on Sunday, April 20, at 7 p.m.

Comcast SportsNet will also deliver extensive pregame and postgame shows, special programming, news coverage and digital media content surrounding the best-of-seven series, which is the Wizards’ first postseason appearance since 2007-08. The exclusive coverage will be produced by the team of expert announcers, reporters and writers that cover the Wizards year-round for the network.

LIVE-GAME COVERAGE

Comcast SportsNet’s live-game coverage, which will include all but one contest, will tip off with Game 1 at Chicago on Sunday, April 20, at 7 p.m. and will include Game 2 at Chicago on April 22 at 9:30 p.m. and Game 3 at Verizon Center on April 25 at 8 p.m. If necessary, the network will also televise Game 5 on April 29, Game 6 on May 1 and Game 7 on May 3. Emmy Award-winning play-by-play announcer Steve Buckhantz, analyst Phil Chenier – who is in his 30th season in this role – and longtime reporter Chris Miller will continue to lead the network’s live coverage in the postseason.

PREGAME AND POSTGAME SHOWS

Comcast SportsNet’s signature game-day shows, Wizards Central and Wizards Postgame Live, will provide comprehensive news, analysis and commentary surrounding all seven potential opening-round contests. The exclusive shows, which will air for a half-hour immediately before and after each contest, will be hosted by Miller and Christy Winters-Scott and will feature analysts Ron Thompson, Tony Massenburg and Corey Alexander. Buckhantz, Chenier and J. Michael will contribute to the coverage from the arena.

SPECIAL PROGRAMMING

Comcast SportsNet will present Wizards: Back to the Playoffs, a special preview show, on Thursday, April 17, at 6:30 p.m. and Friday, April 18, at 7 p.m. Wizards: Playoff Pulse, a magazine-style program, will deliver a half-hour of up-to-date news, features and interviews weekdays throughout the first round, beginning April 21. The show will debut at 6:30 p.m. during the opening week of the series, including April 22 and April 25 prior to Games 2 and 3.

NEWS AND TALK SHOWS

Comcast SportsNet’s daily news program, Geico SportsNet Central, will offer expanded Wizards news, features and interviews throughout the playoffs at 6 p.m., 10:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. The new-look show is led by the network’s talented team of anchors and reporters. In addition, SportsTalk Live with Brian Mitchell, which airs weekdays at 10 p.m. and 12 a.m., will feature extensive Wizards commentary, debate and exclusive interviews throughout the postseason.
