FOLLOWING ARE HIGHLIGHTS FROM TODAY’S NBCSN, CNBC, MSNBC & USA COVERAGE OF THE 2014 OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES IN SOCHI:

Emrick following Team USA’s 3-2 win: “So many paid their rubles to see the home team win – not this game, not tonight.”

Eddie Olczyk on Team USA’s 3-2 win over Russia: “Doc, this game, was tremendously tremendous – it had everything.”

Olczyk on Oshie, who took six of Team USA’s eight shootout attempts: “This is all you want as an athlete – to be on center stage over and over again.”

Dan Patrick to Oshie: “You take your good old time…your EKG probably was flat-lining. It seemed like you were the calmest guy in the building.”

Patrick: “T.J. Oshie – not a bad day in the office.”

Oshie on hearing that Barack Obama tweeted about the win: “I did hear that and I got a little nervous and I lost my breath a little bit… It was so soon since it’s happened, so I don’t think it’s really sunk in.”

Pierre McGuire on T. J. Oshie’s comments following the shootout: “He said, ‘I had a partner out there – Quickie’ – Jonathan Quick. How many guys would actually say that in other sports? ‘I had a partner out there actually helping me out.’”

Vladimir Pozner on the importance of Russia’s loss against USA: “Psychological. It doesn’t mean anything in the sense of if Russia wins the next game against Slovakia, they proceed. But it’s very important because it’s that feeling ‘we’ve got to beat the Americans.’”

Cris Collinsworth on Team USA men’s hockey vs. Russia: “I really believe it was one of the greatest tributes to professional athletes I’ve ever seen. This is not a medal-round game… and from the minute they dropped the puck, I looked over at Al [Michaels] and said ‘This looks like they’re playing for an NHL Stanley Cup!’ It was fantastic, it was beyond that.”

Cris Collinsworth: “Could you imagine if we get a second one of those games [USA vs. Russia]? America will shut down to watch that. That was as good as you could get.”
