FOLLOWING ARE HIGHLIGHTS FROM TODAY’S NBCSN, CNBC, MSNBC & USA COVERAGE OF THE 2014 OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES IN SOCHI:

Cris Collinsworth on Shaun White in the men’s halfpipe competition: “For all that this guy has done in this sport…he sort of was the Tiger Woods…everyone acknowledges that this sport wouldn’t be the same without him…so when somebody beats him, when ‘iPod’ (Iouri Podladtchikov) goes up there and beats him, it’s sort of a new day in the sport.”

Jeremy Roenick on Canada’s 3-2 win over Team USA in women’s hockey: “If you’re talking about this game not meaning anything – this was huge for the Canadian team. To me, losing four games (in a row to Team USA), coming in and playing the way they did tonight and making the U.S. team look very average has got to be a huge confidence boost.”

Natalie Darwitz on Team USA’s confidence after the loss to Canada: “Obviously they lost a big game tonight – they want it back. However, it’s the Olympics – you’ve got to move on. They have a tough Finland team they have to face next, and they have to beat them. The goal is that you come back next week and face team Canada in a gold medal game.”

A.J. Mleczko on Canada’s win over Team USA: “We talked about the importance of this game. On paper there’s very little significance other than the ranking, but for Team Canada…this changes the entire landscape of this Olympic tournament.”

Mike Milbury on Sweden’s 4-2 win over the Czech Republic in men’s hockey: “We learned that when they’re on top of their game, they’re a pretty dominant, puck-possession type team. But like any good team, if they start to take things for granted – (and) I think they did against the Czechs – they can be had.”

Johnny Weir on Marissa Castelli and Simon Shnapir in the pairs’ free program: “The wind was slightly out of their sails today – the sharpness wasn’t there.”
