STAMFORD, Conn. – January 22, 2014 – The stage is set for Super Bowl XLVIII, and NFL Turning Point breaks down how the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks punched their tickets to MetLife Stadium, with a brand new episode debuting tomorrow night at 10 p.m. ET on NBCSN. NFL Turning Point, hosted by Football Night In America’s Dan Patrick, examines last week’s AFC and NFC Championship Games, as Peyton Manning and the Broncos outdueled Tom Brady’s Patriots, and Russell Wilson led the Seahawks past Colin Kaepernick and the division-rival 49ers.

This week’s episode begins in Seattle, where a high-intensity rivalry matchup between the Seahawks and 49ers ended with DB Richard Sherman’s pass deflection in the end zone, leading to Malcolm Smith’s interception to clinch the win for the Seahawks. NFL Turning Point features sound from both Sherman and 49ers WR Michael Crabtree, who went toe-to-toe in a heated argument following Sherman’s game-winning play.

In addition, NFL Turning Point analyzes how the Seattle defense limited San Francisco RB Frank Gore and forced Kaepernick into two interceptions and one fumble. The program also breaks down the game’s turning point moment, when Wilson found WR Jermaine Kearse with a 35-yard touchdown pass on fourth-and-seven in the fourth quarter to give the Seahawks their first lead of the game. In addition to Sherman and Crabtree, Wilson and 49ers LB Ahmad Brooks were also wired for sound.

The episode continues in Denver, where Manning and the Broncos demonstrated why they earned the No. 1 seed in the AFC in their 26-16 win over the Patriots. NFL Turning Point studies the effect of DB Aqib Talib’s injury early in the second quarter, as Manning threw for two touchdowns and 400 yards. The program shows how the Patriots attempted to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter, but were thwarted when RB Shane Vereen was stopped on a two-point conversion try by DE Shaun Phillips. Vereen, Phillips, Patriots DE Chandler Jones and Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas were wired for sound.
