NBC SPORTS GROUP PRESENTS COVERAGE OF UNITED STATES SKI AND SNOWBOARD SELECTION EVENTS THIS WEEKEND

NBC and NBCSN to Air Coverage of Final Slopestyle and Halfpipe USSA Selection Events To Determine 2014 U.S. Olympic Teams

NBC to Air Coverage of Freeski Events from Park City Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET, Followed by Snowboard Halfpipe from Mammoth Mountain Sunday at 3 p.m. ET

STAMFORD, Conn. – Jan. 17, 2013 – NBC Sports Group will present coverage of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association freeskiing and snowboarding halfpipe and slopestyle selection events this weekend across its television and digital platforms. Coverage begins today at 4 p.m. ET on NBCSN and will feature the first of three snowboard halfpipe finals from the Sprint U.S. Grand Prix in Mammoth Mountain, Calif.

NBC’s coverage begins tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. ET with freeskiing halfipipe and slopestyle from the Visa U.S. Freeskiing Grand Prix presented by The North Face.

The results of this weekend’s three USSA snowboarding events and two USSA freeskiing events from Mammoth Mountain, Calif., and Park City, Utah, will determine the athletes that will represent the United States at the upcoming Sochi Winter Games next month.

Athletes expected to compete include Shaun White and Kelly Clark, who have qualified for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, as well as Olympic hopefuls Louie VitoDanny Davis, Keri Herman, Tom Wallisch, Nick Goepper, and Bobby Brown.

SNOWBOARDING
Live coverage from Mammoth Mountain, Calif., begins today at 4 p.m. ET on NBCSN with the the second of three halfpipe finals at 4 p.m. ET. NBC will air live coverage of the last snowboard halfpipe finals on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET. Coverage of the Mammoth Grand Prix concludes on Monday at 1 p.m. ET with the third of three snowboard slopestyle finals.

FREESKIING
Coverage from Park City, Utah, begins tonight at 11 p.m. ET on NBCSN with the first freeski halfpipe finals, and continues tomorrow on NBC with the first freeski halfpipe and slopestyle finals at 2:30 p.m. ET, followed by live coverage of the second freeski slopestyle finals at 4:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Coverage concludes Sunday, with the second freeski halfpipe finals and U.S. Olympic Team announcement at 5:30 p.m. ET.
