“NFL TURNING POINT” HIGHLIGHTS COLTS’ HISTORIC COMEBACK AND LAST-SECOND VICTORIES FROM WILD CARD WEEKEND

NFL Turning Point Features Colts’ 45-44 Win Over Chiefs

Episode Highlights Last-Second Field Goal Wins for Saints and 49ers

Chargers Defeat Bengals with Strong Defensive Performance in Cincinnati

STAMFORD, Conn. – Jan. 8, 2013 – NFL Turning Point features the Colts’ second-half comeback over the Chiefs, two game-winning field goals on the road by the 49ers and Saints, and the Chargers road victory in Cincinnati, with a new episode tonight at 11 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

NFL Turning Point, hosted by Football Night In America’s Dan Patrick, examines last week’s Wild Card weekend that saw three of four games decided by less than three points.

NFL Turning Point begins with the Chiefs and Colts from Lucas Oil Stadium, where Andrew Luck rallied Indianapolis to a 45-44 win over Kansas City in the second-largest comeback in NFL postseason history. The program focuses on how the Chiefs offensive line stifled Colts DE Robert Mathis and built a first-half lead. NFL Turning Point then shifts to the Colts’ comeback in the second half, capped by WR T.Y. Hilton’s game-winning touchdown catch late in the fourth quarter.

The episode moves to Philadelphia, where the Saints and Eagles defenses managed to contain the opposition’s high-powered offenses for much of the game. NFL Turning Point highlights Saints QB Drew Brees’ ability to turn things around in the second half, and control the ball and the clock on an extended final drive, ultimately ending in K Shayne Graham’s 33-yard game-winning field goal as time expired.

NFL Turning Point studies how 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick was able to utilize his versatility and toughness in Green Bay, and how both teams battled to overcome bitter cold temperatures. The program also examines the San Diego Chargers defensive performance in their 27-10 win over the Bengals, and how they were able to slow down one of the league’s top offenses in Cincinnati.
