No. 11 Notre Dame Hosts Massachusetts in College Hockey Doubleheader Beginning Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN

STAMFORD, Conn. – Dec. 2, 2013 – NBCSN’s NHL regular-season coverage continues this week with three matchups, highlighted by a Wednesday Night Rivalry showdown between the Philadelphia Flyers and Detroit Red Wings at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Coverage begins on NBCSN tonight at 8 p.m. ET, when the Flyers visit the Minnesota Wild, and continues with Stars-Blackhawks on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET.

Wednesday night’s matchup between the Flyers and Red Wings marks Philadelphia’s second visit to Detroit this season. Henrik Zetterberg scored twice and added an assist, and Pavel Datsyuk and Niklas Kronwall each added a goal and two assists, as the Red Wings beat the Flyers 5-2 on Oct. 13. The Flyers have recorded at least a point in nine of their last 11 games, while the Red Wings enter Wednesday’s action riding a four-game winning streak.

Emmy Award-winning play-by-play commentator Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick, analyst Eddie Olczyk and Emmy Award-winning ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Pierre McGuire will have the call from Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Mich.

This week’s NHL coverage on NBCSN begins Monday at 8 p.m. ET when Zach Parise and the Minnesota Wild host the Flyers. Emrick and McGuire will provide live commentary from Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minn.

Coverage continues on Tuesday when Tyler Seguin and the Dallas Stars travel to Chicago to face Patrick Kane and the Blackhawks at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Gord Miller (play-by-play) and McGuire will have the call from the United Center in Chicago, Ill.

NHL Live, NBC Sports Group live NHL pre-game and post-game studio show, begins one hour prior to this week’s games on NBCSN. Liam McHugh will host NHL Live with former players and analysts Mike Milbury and Keith Jones prior to Flyers-Red Wings on Wednesday Night Rivalry. Russ Thaler will host NHL Live with Milbury and Jones on Monday and Tuesday.

In addition to its NHL coverage, NBCSN will present a college hockey doubleheader this weekend when No. 11 Notre Dame hosts Massachusetts on Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET, and again on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. ET. Dave Strader (play-by-play) and Anson Carter (analyst) will provide commentary from the Compton Family Ice Arena in South Bend, Ind.

NBC Sports Live Extra – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, and tablets – will stream all 2013-14 NHL regular season games televised on NBC and NBCSN, including this week’s Flyers-Wild, Stars-Blackhawks, Flyers-Red Wings matchups, as well as both Notre Dame-Massachusetts games.
