NBCSN TO PRESENT “BATTLE 4 ATLANTIS” AND “BARCLAYS CENTER CLASSIC” THIS WEEK
More than 18 Hours of College Basketball on NBCSN
Battle 4 Atlantis Features Andrew Wiggins and No. 2 Kansas
Former NBA Head Coach Stan Van Gundy to Serve as Game Analyst
Stamford, Conn – November 26, 2013 – NBCSN will present more than 18 hours of college basketball this holiday weekend, including live coverage of the Battle 4 Atlantis, which features Andrew Wiggins and the No. 2 Kansas Jayhawks, and the Barclays Center Classic. Coverage begins on Thursday night at 7 p.m. ET, and continues through the weekend.
BATTLE 4 ATLANTIS
Featuring Kansas, Villanova, Tennessee, USC, Iowa, Wake Forest, Xavier University and UTEP,the 2013 Battle 4 Atlantis field combines 191 NCAA Tournament appearances, 25 Final Four appearances and 5 National Championships.
NBCSN’s 12 hours of coverage, live from the Atlantis resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, will feature two first round games, both semifinal contests, the Battle 4 Atlantis 3rd place game, and theBattle 4 Atlantis Championship.
Coverage begins Thursday night at 7 p.m. ET with a Big East vs. Big Ten matchup between Xavier and Iowa. At 9:30 p.m. ET, Tennessee takes on UTEP.
NBCSN’s coverage continues on Friday, with the tournament Semifinals. At 7 p.m. ET, the winner of Xavier-Iowa takes on the victor of the first-round game between Tennessee and UTEP. In Friday’s nightcap, the winner of Kansas-Wake Forest will take the court against either Villanova or USC.
Coverage concludes on Saturday night with the Battle 4 Atlantis Championship at 9:30 p.m. ET., preceded by the 3rd place game at 7 p.m. ET.
Former NBA head coach Stan Van Gundy will serve as game analyst, and will be joined by play-by-play announcer Terry Gannon. Marty Snider will report from the sideline, and Kenny Rice will host.
BARCLAYS CENTER CLASSIC
NBCSN’s coverage of the Barclays Center Classic, featuring Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, St. John’s and Penn State, begins on Friday at 4:30 p.m. ET when Ole Miss takes on Georgia Tech, live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Coverage concludes Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET, with the Barclays Center Classic Championship Game, preceded by the 3rd place game at 2 p.m. ET.
Play-by-play announcer Mike Corey will call the action, and will be joined by analyst Ron Thompson.
