ORLANDO, Fla. (Nov. 20, 2013) – Golf Channel is bolstering its on-air talent lineup in 2014 with the addition of Hall-of-Famer Juli Inkster, seven-year LPGA Tour veteran Paige Mackenzie and 2004 Women’s British Open champion Karen Stupples to its broadcast team.

“We’re excited about the addition of Juli, Paige and Karen to the Golf Channel family, as each is a proven competitor on tour,” said Molly Solomon, Golf Channel Executive Producer.  “Their insight and knowledge from more than 50 years of combined professional playing experience will enhance our tournament and news coverage, taking viewers more inside the ropes and closer to the current athletes.  Adding a Hall of Famer and a major champion to Golf Channel’s tournament coverage is a terrific boost.”

Inkster, a World Golf Hall of Fame member who has 31 LPGA victories – including seven major championships – during her illustrious career, will work as a course reporter for five LPGA Tour events in 2014, beginning with the Mobile Bay LPGA Classic in May.  Inkster also will continue to play on the LPGA Tour.

Mackenzie, who has competed on the LPGA Tour since 2007, first appeared on Golf Channel as a contributor on GOLF CENTRAL in November, 2012, during CME Group Titleholders week, and on MORNING DRIVE in June of this year.  In her new role, she will co-host MORNING DRIVE and offer commentary on GOLF CENTRAL during some of the biggest weeks on the calendar while continuing to play a full LPGA schedule.  She also will report from select events and conduct in-depth interviews with players that will air within Golf Channel news and tournament programming, beginning this week with the CME Group Titleholders.

Stupples, the 2004 Women’s British Open Champion who has accumulated nearly $4 million in career earnings on the LPGA and Ladies European Tours in her 15-year career, is making the transition from the course to television in 2014.  As a Golf Channel analyst, Stupples will work several LPGA events as a course reporter and booth analyst.  She also will be a studio analyst for the network’s news programming.

Golf Channel airs live coverage of the final event of the 2013 LPGA Tour season this week – the CME Group Titleholders – from Naples, Fla., Thursday-Sunday, 1:30-4 p.m. ET.
