NBC TO AIR COVERAGE OF 2013 GRAND PRIX OF RUSSIA SUNDAY AT 2 P.M. ET

Stamford, Conn. – November 20, 2013 – NBC continues its coverage of the 2013 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating with the Grand Prix of Russia on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET. Coverage will feature the men’s and ladies’ free skate competition from Moscow, Russia.

The Grand Prix of Russia is the last of six international events in an aggregate point-scoring format. The top six cumulative point-earners in each discipline qualify for the 2013 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, set for Dec. 5-8, in Fukoka, Japan.

Highlighting the field for the U.S. are 2011 U.S. silver medalist Richard Dornbush, 2013 World junior champion Joshua Farris, 2010 Olympian and two-time U.S. champion Mirai Nagasu, and 2013 U.S. bronze medalist Agnes Zawadzki. In addition, 2013 European champion Javier Fernandez from Spain, and 2012 World champion and five-time World medalist Carolina Kostner of Italy will compete.

COMMENTATORS: Steve Schlanger will call the action alongside analysts Johnny Weir, a two-time Olympian and three-time U.S. champion, and Olympic gold medalist Tara Lipinski.

The Grand Prix Series, now in its 19th season, consists of six international events in a cumulative point-scoring format. Approximately 300 athletes from 30 countries are expected to participate in the series. Each athlete is eligible to score points in up to two of the six scheduled events.
