“Very impressive what ORACLE TEAM USA has been able to do. They are small changes, but they are making a big difference.” – NBC Sports Group America’s Cup Reporter Gary Jobson on ORACLE TEAM USA

STAMFORD, Conn. – Sept. 23, 2013
 – Following ORACLE TEAM USA’s fifth consecutive victory in the America’s Cup Finals, Emirates Team New Zealand now leads the regatta by a score of 8-6 and is still one victory away from winning the 2013 America’s Cup. ORACLE TEAM USA has avoided elimination by winning five straight America’s Cup Finals races, and can win the regatta with a victory in all three of the remaining races. No team in America’s Cup series history has ever comeback from a larger point deficit. Should ORACLE TEAM USA win the next three races, it would be the greatest comeback in the history of the 162-year event.

Live coverage of the 2013 America’s Cup will continue tomorrow at 4 p.m. ET on NBCSN, beginning with Race 17. Should it be necessary, Race 18 will take place immediately following Race 17.

Veteran announcer Todd Harris will serve as the play-by-play commentator for the NBCSN telecast. Harris will be joined by former America’s Cup Helmsman and Volvo Ocean Race skipper Ken Read, as well as renowned sailor and author Gary Jobson.
