Stamford, Conn. – September 10, 2013 – The third season of the Emmy Award-nominated NFL Turning Point, NBCSN’s weekly NFL show co-produced by NFL Films, will debut tomorrow night at 10 p.m. ET. Wednesday’s episode breaks down the Green Bay Packers game against the San Francisco 49ers, and the contribution of 49ers off-season acquisition Anquan Boldin in leading San Francisco to victory against Green Bay; head coach Sean Payton’s return to the Saints and the team’s win over the Falcons; and a film study session with Vikings RB Adrian Peterson. Hosted by Football Night In America’s Dan Patrick, the hour-long program will air throughout the entire NFL season, including the playoffs and Super Bowl.

This week’s episode features:

  • Packers – 49ers: NFL Films breaks down Sunday’s game between Green Bay and San Francisco, and highlights the similarities to last year’s NFC Divisional Championship contest between the two teams. NFL Turning Point analyzes the play of 49ers WR Anquan Boldin and his contribution to San Francisco’s victory over Green Bay. NFL Films also takes a look at the Packers defense, which was strong against the 49ers running game, but less effective when San Francisco put the ball in the air. In addition, NFL Turning Point reviews the officiating error in the second quarter that resulted in a 49ers touchdown.
  • Falcons – Saints: NFL Turning Point deep dives in to the Falcons – Saints matchup, including the Falcons final drive of the game in which Atlanta failed to convert on the goal line. During the segment, NFL Films reviews the play of New Orleans QB Drew Brees and Atlanta QB Matt Ryan, highlighted by Brees’ fervent first quarter and Ryan’s ease and ability to connect with TE Tony Gonzalez. NFL Films also highlights the return of Saints head coach Sean Payton and his immediate impact on the team.
  • Adrian Peterson: The season debut of NFL Turning Point wraps up with an exclusive film study with Vikings RB Adrian Peterson. The 2012 NFL MVP talks about his historic 2012 season and a couple of his favorite plays – one of which resulted in a 78-yard touchdown against Detroit, on his first carry of the 2013 season.

Each week Emmy-nominated NFL Turning Point will be built around select NFL matchups from the previous weekend, and will focus on the crucial “turning point” moments that ultimately defined the outcome of each game. The show will feature anatomy-of-a-play type segments and long form, Game-of-the-Week style narratives that include the pre-game and post-game access, sideline sounds, jaw-dropping cinematography and incredible storytelling that is synonymous with NFL Films.

In 2013 NBCSN will air a total of 22 episodes, running throughout the entire NFL season, including the playoffs and Super Bowl. The season finale, scheduled to air on Wednesday, February 4, 2014, will look back at the turning point of Super Bowl XLVIII.
