RED BULL JOYRIDE BRINGS MOUNTAIN BIKING TO NBC AS PART OF RED BULL SIGNATURE SERIES

World-Class Event from British Columbia Airs Saturday at 2p.m. ET/11a.m. PT

 

New York – September 6, 2013 – Red Bull Joyride, the world’s most progressive freeride mountain bike event, airs this Saturday at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT on NBC as part of the Red Bull Signature Series.

The world’s best freeride mountain bikers made their annual pilgrimage to Whistler, British Columbia last month for the year’s marquee pro event – Red Bull Joyride.  Top professionals competed on a rider-inspired downhill course featuring dirt jumps, wooden ramps, platforms and a massive flat drop off the Joyride cabin during the Crankworx mountain bike festival.

Thousands witnessed Joyride at the foot of Whistler Mountain, and on Saturday, fans across the country will have the opportunity to see the excitement and progression of freeride mountain biking on NBC.  Viewers will see hometown hero Brandon Semenuk attempt to take back the Joyride title in his Whistler backyard after coming up short in 2012.

Red Bull Joyride is part of the Red Bull Signature Series – made up of one-of-a-kind programming on NBC all year long.  Red Bull Media House and Alli Sports, a division of the NBC Sports Group, are showcasing the most progressive and innovative snowboarding, mountain biking, freestyle motocross, ice cross downhill, skiing and BMX events, on custom courses from the inspiration of the athletes themselves.

Upcoming Red Bull Signature Series programming includes:

  • Traxxas TORC – Saturday, September 28 at 2:30p.m. ET/11:30a.m. PT – The Traxxas TORC (The Off-Road Championship) Series culminates in Lancaster, PA on September 28, airing live on NBC.  The show will highlight the high octane, adrenaline-fueled aggressive driving characteristic of off road racing.
