Note the following quotes from Inside Look with Jake Peavy presented by Cadillac premiering Tuesday, June 4 on Comcast SportsNet:

PEAVY on the determination of White Sox Executive Vice President Kenny Williams to acquire him:

“There’s no better feeling in the world to be wanted if somebody goes ‘I want you on my team…I know you’re hurt, but you’ve got three years left on your contract, and I want you here.”

PEAVY on how close he almost became a member of the Cubs, instead of the White Sox:

“I think it was pretty much a done deal and we had some ownership stuff going on (in San Diego). Sandy Alderson had just came over (as new Padres CEO) and he kind of pulled the plug on it…just out from under my feet. I certainly thought I was going to be a Chicago Cub.”

PEAVY on his season-ending injury with the White Sox in 2010:

“I don’t like to relive that particular moment because it was about the worst pain I ever felt. Really, if anything, I threw the pitch, I knew something structurally bad had happened…my arm was down in the mid part of my back and my side, so…if you ever watch the video, I just knew something was bad.”

PEAVY on a particular song that he feels sums up his career:

“Adam Hood sings a song - ‘Hell of a Fight’ - and I truly have fought and scratched and clawed to make it, to stay, to get back, and I will continue to do that as long as I live.”

PEAVY on his number one career goal:

“I’m not looking to leave any number…numbers-wise…that doesn’t mean anything to me. I want to be a winner. I want people to go ‘You know what? He was a winner and he was the best teammate I ever had.”
