COMCAST SPORTSNET TO CELEBRATE “PAT FOLEY NIGHT,” HONORING 30 SEASONS OF EXCELLENCE FROM THE BLACKHAWKS PLAY-BY-PLAY LEGEND

Network to cover the “Pat Foley Night” on-ice ceremony from the United Center on Friday, April 19 prior to Blackhawks-Predators telecast;

Foley career retrospective features to be presented on “Blackhawks Pre-Game Live” & CSNChicago.com

 

Chicago, IL (April 17, 2013) – Comcast SportsNet, the television home for the most games and most comprehensive coverage of the 2012-13 NHL Central Division champion Chicago Blackhawks, will provide special coverage to celebrate Friday’s “Pat Foley Night” ceremony, honoring the Blackhawks play-by-play legend for his 30 seasons with the franchise.

 

On Friday, April 19 at 7:30 PM, Comcast SportsNet will bring viewers LIVE coverage of the “Pat Foley Night” on-ice ceremony from the United Center (in advance of the Blackhawks battle against the division rival Nashville Predators).

 

Prior to the game at 7:00 PM on Chevy Blackhawks Pre-Game Live, Blackhawks beat reporter Susannah Collins will have a special one-on-one chat with Foley about his illustrious career, which will include additional interviews with Foley’s on-air partner/Blackhawks legend Eddie Olczyk, Blackhawks head Joel Quenneville and Blackhawks center Dave Bolland.  In addition, the pre-game show will present a feature highlighting numerous on-air calls from Foley that have made him a household name not only in Chicago, but nationally as well.  Following Blackhawks Post Game Live presented by Hawk Ford, GMC SportsNet Central will provide a complete wrap-up of the Blackhawks-Predators game, as well as a recap of the “Pat Foley Night” festivities.

 

From a digital standpoint, CSN Chicago.com will provide plenty of additional “Pat Foley Night” highlights for fans to enjoy including a long-form feature story from Blackhawks digital reporter Nina Falcone that will accompany Collins’ pre-game feature story.  Plus, Blackhawks “Insider” Tracey Myers will have a special feature story to present as she chats with other NHL broadcasters and players who discuss Foley’s dedication and work ethic, which have helped him become one of greatest play-by-play announcers in league history.  CSN’s Blackhawks studio tandem of Pat Boyle & Steve Konroyd will also have special write-ups on Foley’s career.
