NBC SPORTS NETWORK’S MLS COVERAGE CONTINUES THIS WEEKEND WITH REAL SALT LAKE AT COLORADO RAPIDS SATURDAY IN PRIMETIME

Rocky Mountain Rivalry Match Begins at 7:30 p.m. ET

NEW YORK – April 3, 2013 – NBC Sports Network’s Major League Soccer coverage this weekend features a Rocky Mountain rivalry match when the Colorado Rapids host Real Salt Lake in primetime, Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET. The rivalry’s first match of the 2013 season ended in a 1-1 draw.

COMMENTATORS: NBC Sports Group’s MLS announce team of Arlo White (play-by-play) and Kyle Martino (‘Between-the-Benches’) and Russ Thaler (analyst) will host coverage from Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo.

WHITE’S TAKE ON THE RIVALRY:

White: “Real Salt Lake played some thrilling soccer in their victory over Seattle last week, and their young guns are now trained on Rocky Mountain-rival Colorado. Striker Alvaro Saborio has scored 43 goals in MLS since the start of 2010. He will be supported by a very talented young cast including midfielder Luis Gil, who has the technique and potential to be a major star.

“Things are tough for Colorado, who has been ravaged by early season injuries to key players. But that has led to early chances for rookies like striker Deshorn Brown and midfielder Dillon Powers, who scored a spectacular goal against Portland last weekend.”
